Camden Jacob Simmons, the son of American soldier Jacob Simmons and Miranda Simmons, was born on March 6th 1972. Jacob was serving in Vietnam when Camden was born and was killed a month later during the Easter Offensive by the People's Army of Vietnam. A shy but intelligent child, Camden suffered another loss at the age of three when his mother was taken in a tragic car accident and was then adopted by his grandparents Kenneth and Valorie Everett. As a young boy, Simmons was deeply interested in the armed forces and collected army toys and joined the scouts but despite the best efforts of his grandparents, Simmons still understandably longed for his parents. In 1979 at the age of 7, Simmons was taken seriously ill with pneumonia and was hospitalised and was released after four weeks. Simmons studied at school in Stockport up to the age of 11, when he moved on to high school but at the age of 14, Simmons grandfather died of lung cancer being a heavy smoker and this severely affected his acheivement levels. Threatened with expulsion after many examples of disorderly behaviour Simmons, with the guidance of his grandmother and teachers began to climb again and reached high levels in his examinations at 16 years old.
Developing Ambitions
Moving on from school, Simmons began to take interest in joining the British Armed Forces and registered in 1989 at 17 years old. Leaving behing his girlfriend and job as a trainee engineer, Simmons progressed through the training and was assigned as part of Operation Granby in the Gulf War in 1991 at the age of 19. The collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War led to a decrease in British Armed Forces personnel but Simmons was implicated in an execuction scandal during the war in Iraq, despite proclaiming his innocence. Humiliated, discharged and threatened with prison, Simmons disappeared from May 1992 until August 1993, returning due to the murder of his grandmother in a violent robbery. More alone and angry than ever, Simmons' life took another turn for the worst and after discovering the identity of Valorie's killer, began a relentless pursuit to bring him to justice. After tracking the man, Cameron Aydan, to a side street in Manchester, Simmons took out 21 years of frustration on him and left him for dead. Lost and confused and with nowhere to go, Simmons contemplated suicide and battled to remain in the shadows due to his attack on Aydan. Simmons' moved from his flat in Stockport to the area of Halton in Leeds to live with Masamba Odhiambo, an African migrant.
The Early Mercenary Years
It was in 1994 that British MP Alfonse Estage was named as a supporter and financer of the Private Military Company (PMC) Alpha Security Intiatives and following this mysteriously disappeared. Putting his military knowledge to use and tempted by the allure of working as a mercenary, Simmons along with Masamba attempted to join ASI and enrolled in their training activity. Estage's involvement in the organisation's activities became clearer as the months went by although the lives in which the training groups led were far better than Simmons had experienced in many years. It was in 1997 at the age of 25 when Simmons would commence his first mercenary activities as part of a group of 10. Working in countries across Africa, Simmons witnessed the malice in which some of his teammates carried out their missions, killing civilians and destroying houses. It was during this time Simmons first met Charles Jenkins, then a low ranking official from British Intelligence Service who informed him of possible links between Alfonse Estage and terrorism. Simmons walked away from the meeting questioning what he knew and what his future held, with Jenkins suggesting he would be in touch. After successfully completing their objectives and receiving payment, ASI pulled the team out in 1999. The leader of the team, a French mercenary named Émile Gagne, was killed shortly afterward and replaced by American Lance Gestapo. After questioning his orders, Masamba was shot dead and any who opposed were to answer to Estage himself, re-emerging as the main power holder in the organisation as Jenkins predicted. Devastated by the loss of his best friend, Simmons resigned and fled to the USA and began freelancing as security from 2000 to 2002. It was during this time that he began a shortlived relationship with CIA agent Janet Core and it was this that ultimately spurred Simmons to return to ASI due to the impending oppurtunites resulting from the USA's invasion of Iraq. Simmons was welcomed back by those from the old team still a part of it although Gestapo's dislike towards him was clear for all to see. Due to the predicted high pay off resulting from ASI's operations in Iraq, Simmons remained as part of the team. In 2004 on Estage's orders, the team were removed from active duty and guaranteed a high payment and despite Simmons' warnings of suspicious activity, the team agreed to return. The transport was hit by a roadside explosion on the way back, killing all on board except Simmons, who managed to escape with severe burns but survived. Suspecting Gestapo's involvement, Simmons walked away knowing full well that the target on his back was greater than ever.
Estage Rivalry Beginnings
From inside information, Simmons discovered Estage had comandeered ASI's assets and officially disbanded the organisation. He had developed the so called 'Black Death' terrorist network, hiring over 400 men in 6 months. Returning to the UK full of anger and lust for revenge, Simmons used his amassed wealth to purchase his own equipment and began freelancing to the highest bidder across the world, swearing one day to hunt down the newly titled 'Lieutenant Estage'. The year of 2006 saw Estage's first strikes against the 'Bringer of War' also known as the United Kingdom, holding it responsible for his downfall, the devastation in the Middle East as well as loathing its relationship with the USA. After attacking military bases around the world, the British Intelligence Service director Mark Burns hired the one man who could capture Estage: CJ Simmons. After tracking Estage down, Burns arrived and revealed himself to have been working with Estage since 1994, allowing him to access information about anything in the BIS archives. Simmons, prewarned of this betrayal by Head of BIS 2 Charles Jenkins, subdued Burns but Estage managed to escape. Out of work again and trusting no one, Simmons spent the next six months from May to October working in Africa independently, retaining his position as one of the best freelancers in the world. An attempt on his life in Sierra Leone led Simmons to return to the UK and after recieving a phonecall headed to an off-the-book meeting with new head of BIS, Charles Jenkins.
Deadly Showdown
A final oppurtunity worth £800,000 to eliminate Estage was laid down and Simmons set about tracing Estage through former friends and contacts. One by one each of these was eliminated, leaving Simmons with the untrustworthy Richard Burbank. Estage's plans had been set in motion and after bribing Burbank to kill the in custody Mark Burns, deputy Black Death commander Warren Bouchez was dispatched to eliminate Simmons, Burbank and Burns. The survival of Simmons was to be Estage's undoing; despite attempts on his life by the treacherous Major Williams and the eventual suicide of Bouchez, Simmons was able to use his capture by Estage to his advantage. The simultaneous assault by Lance Gestapo's men on BIS HQ had led to the deaths of notable employess but escape of Jenkins. In a twist of irony, Janet Core had recently been transferred from CIA to BIS and her capture was intended t
o force her to hand over defense codes upon witnessing Simmons' suffering. The missile attacks from British systems were launched on capital cities across the world, intended to cause economic meltdown and civil disarray however quick thinking from Jenkins allowed the termination of missiles. Simmons finally caught up with Estage and on top of the mountain of Estage's heaquarters, Simmons pains throughout his entire life had built to this moment. The loss of his comrades and best friend at the hands of Estage had destroyed his second chance in life and after a refused offer from Simmons to take Estage in alive, Estage attempted to attack Simmons but was shot whilst doing so. After contemplting his future, a life of no morals and no ties and resigning himself to never being truly happy, Simmons kills Estage and collapses from the strains of the contract. Hurried away by Charles Jenkins, his survival is hidden from Janet and Simmons is allowed to continue has job as a freelancer. Films featured in: Bomb Voyage, Elite Mercenary, Dissolution
