My choir

Peckham Voices was formed in 1998 when a group of friends decided they needed an excuse to exercise their vocal chords and maybe even try out the odd harmony! From these little acorns grew a sixty-strong community choir with members from all over South London. The present choir performs twice a year with concerts in December and July.

The choir meets twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and members must commit to one or other of these evenings. There are visits to the pub after most rehearsals with "Monday people" and "Thursday people" getting together as a whole for dress rehearsals, concerts and, of course, parties!

Our repertoire is wide-ranging and includes old favourites as well as new songs from all over the world. Although most pieces are performed a cappella, musicians often join us for concerts and even the occasional jam session!
