Steph studied music at Canterbury Christ Church University and worked at various schools as a leader of music. She teaches piano and violoncello. Steph sings with a quartet known as the Hard Core Jets.
Nicki has been a member of Whistlefish from the start and has only missed one rehearsal ever!! She does a great job of filing, sorting and handing out music during rehearsals.
Whitstable Whistlefish was formed in 2003 when a group of friends decided they needed an excuse to exercise their vocal chords and maybe even try out the odd harmony! From these little acorns grew a thirty-strong community choir with members from Whitstable, Canterbury and nearby towns and villages. The present choir performs twice a year with concerts in December and July and we join with choirs from all over Great Britain to sing in the Thames Festival in London each September.

The choir meets about every two weeks on Sunday afternoons and members must commit to these along with some sectional rehearsals tagged onto the start of normal times. There are visits to the pub after most rehearsals and some seasonal celebrations at Christmas and in the summer.
Our repertoire is wide-ranging and includes old favourites as well as new songs from all over the world. Although most pieces are performed a cappella, musicians often join us for concerts and even the occasional jam session!
