Direct Service Provision
Some of the social services offered by WAC staff and volunteers are:
WAC also provides accommodation for some key local community organisations such as the Association of Waterloo Groups, the Waterloo Community Development Group, and the Bangladeshi Community Group. Find out more here
Room hire for community events and public meetings is also provided including dance classes, two churches and the Waterloo Legal Advice Service.
Our General Advice Service – a drop-in service, is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This service offers confidential advice and is available to all residents of Lambeth. This service funded by Lambeth Council, provides up-to-date information and assistance with filling out forms on the following areas:-
The Waterloo Legal Advice Service is held every Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 8 pm. This Free Legal Advice Service is delivered by 27 lawyers and 6 administrators who volunteer their time to help the community.
The Older Person Service
This Service supports Older People to remain living in the community, and will maintain and improve their quality of life by providing a range of activities, care and support services.
These services and activities provided, include line dancing classes & arts and crafts classes, chair based exercise class to music, and informal and very social healthy lunches.
The Out & About Club This club for the over 65s is very active and social. Organised coach trips, theatre and cinema trips, annual holiday, presentations, demonstrations, live music, Christmas and Pancake Party are some of the activities that take place.
The club have also undertaken gardening activities in the WAC garden and organise history events
