Direct Service Provision

Some of the social services offered by WAC staff and volunteers are:

  • Advice on state provisions
  • Legal Advice
  • Events for older people

Our General Advice Service – a drop-in service, is held the mornings of every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10am - 1pm and along with WLAS everything Thursday evening between 6.30 - 8pm.  This service offers confidential advice and is available to all residents of Lambeth. This service funded by Lambeth Council, provides up-to-date information and assistance with filling out forms on the following areas:-

  • Welfare Benefits
  • Debt 
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Consumer Issues

The Waterloo Legal Advice Service is held every Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 8 pm. This Free Legal Advice Service is delivered by 27 lawyers and 6 administrators who volunteer their time to help the community.

WAC also provides accommodation for some key local community organisations such as the Association of Waterloo Groups, the Waterloo Community Development Group, and the Bangladeshi Community Group. Find out more here

Room Hire for community events and public meetings is also provided including classes, gatherings and functions.
