Your Commmunity Cafe HERE?

One of the projects that the committee has agreed we would like to progress with is setting up a Cafe inside WAC. We would like the cafe to be run as a partnership between WAC and another organisation / company or individual who can run the cafe in a way that supports the following objectives:

- provides affordable food to local residents and workers
- involves WAC's volunteers / out and about club in running the service
- draws in more people to the centre
- makes some form of value contribution to the centre

We are open to proposals from Businesses, Charities, Individuals or Local Authority bodies.

We're looking for people who are intersted in running the service to come up with proposals for how they think they can run it. We would like proposals to be in writing but are happy for them to be in the format that suits you.

We are proposing that the partner would not be charged a rent for the space, but we would be looking for the partner to fund or partially fund the investment needed to set up the cafe and we would be looking for the cafe to be run on social enterprise principles.

We would like you to address the following questions in your proposal:

- Who you would target the cafe at?
- What type of food you would offer?
- An indication of pricing
- How to involve our Out and About Club?
- How you would address Health and Safety?
- What changes if any you would make to the Kitchen?
- What other investment would you make? (signage / furniture / publicity)
- When the cafe would be open?
- How you would fit opening hours around other users of the hall
- How would you manage and involve volunteers?

If you have any comments or suggestions please make them below,

Submissions should be made to WAC via Liz Conroy by 31st March 2008. Shortlisted organisations will be invited to our Committee meeting on the 7th April to present their ideas.

If you are interested in helping us establish and run a cafe inside WAC then please get in touch with Liz Conroy (see the Contact us Section)

Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you!
