The Rear Hall used to be the main reading room of the original Library. It was here that George Orwell wrote the Road to Wigan Pier.
The space is well suited to hosting large public meetings and projection equipment can be made available.

We open Monday to Friday from 09:30 and on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 (depending on hall booking). Our halls are available for meeting, rehearsals, seminars, dance classes, private parties, weddings, and other functions.
