Back to VISIBLE THOUGHT Written on 21-Jan-2011 by visiblethinkingI have just agreed to trace the work of the industry Guru David Sibbet in his book visual meetings. It is funny that in order for a translation to be made to dutch, all the pictures have to be redrawn. You might think it a bit odd to redraw the whole book, but it really is necessary to maintain the free flowing style of the book. What is going to be even more odd is that the life's work of a great practitioner is going to be translated not only in text, but also in its pictures... will the soul of the book stay in tact? I am at least going to work on that.
A while back I was part of the translation of the belgium book "creativiteit HOEZO?" It translated to english with the title: Creativity Today! The goal was to create the visual content for the book in just 1 day... Today! In my memory that is also what happend... except for some small adjustments that had to be made afterwards. The only problem with the "visual Meeting" job is that it is dependent on one style... david's style translated into my own style.
I think the pressure of TODAY! might help to create the sketches that do justice to the style of David. Created in the moment for a set purpose... to inform, not to be pretty... Keep you posted!
