Villa Rosetta

Purportedly the Villa of la Bella Rosina, a beautiful Milanese countess and the King of Italy's lover, Villa Rosetta is named after her daughter Rosetta who lived there part of her life.

With stunning views over a typical Umbrian valley and walking distance (7 mins) from the center of Citta della Pieve, Villa Rosetta offers quiet of a country side location with the amenities and local life of a small Umbrian town.

Citta della Pieve is an attractive walled town made of red matone (www..it), has a life of its own  with its colorful Saturday market, lively Palio, Infiorata and other events.

In short, a luxurious Italian holiday combining lounging by the pool, late evenings enjoying local pasta and wine, while the cultural events in nearby Montepulciano, Orvieto, Cortona, Arezzo, la Foce or Pienza combine to make this "la bella vita!"

The house itself has, on the ground floor, a large kitchen with an old fireplace and a large pillared summer dining room which opens onto the terrace for al fresco dining. A sauna 'spa' and wine cellar are also on this level.

The first floor holds a stunning, stone pillared entrance hall and a winter living room for quiet evenings, while a fully equipped study allows for a 'working holiday'. A beautifully frescoed music room serves as a bedroom on this level (with en-suite).

The second floor holds a 20ft domed main living room with a magnificent fresco from the 19th Century and an imposing elegant stone chimney, leading onto a master bedroom and two further large en-suite bedrooms.

The third floor has two further en-suite bedrooms suitable for couples and/or individuals.

Overall, the house can sleep 12 in complete comfort and is an ideal home for a family holiday or for a professional getaway.

Maid and cooking services can be provided upon request. Gardener looks afer the pool and the keeps the grounds.

The villa is perched next to the in the hilltop village of Citta della Pieve (5000 inh.) and is located halfway from the between Florence (1.30 hr) and Rome (2 hrs) and easily accessible by train from both cities in under 1hr 30.
