After months of struggling, injuring ourselves, being rained on, feeding various animals and walking day in day out, I'm pleased to announce that we've FINALLY DONE IT!
That's right folks, at about half one on the thirteenth of December two fridges and their rather bedraggled owners limped across the famous finishing line painted on the ground at Land's End, and breathed an enourmous sign of releif.
Apologies for not updating along the way for the past week - internet has been somewhat non existant recently, but we've been through a fair amount in this week alone. For starters we had to climb the worlds biggest hill. Then we were rained on almost constantly for about 4 days. After this, although I had seemingly fixed my problem right knee, my left began to hurt quite considerably. The days after this saw our bodies generally degrade as a result of too much walking - my knee hurt even more, James' ankles began to hurt and even our equipment was showing signs of giving up. Most importantly James' trolley wheel fell apart completely, spilling vital bits of wheel all across the road. This was fixed once and broke again, and so we had to call in a new trolley from some friends we had made a few days before.
So all in all, not the most gracious finish, but a finish nonetheless. And so to EVERYBODY who helped out along the way, from those who beeped their horns to those who let us stay, we'd like to say an enormous THANK YOU - we're eternally grateful. And if you're ever stuck by the side of the road with a domestic appliance, you know who to call!
Watch this space for the next bout of stupidity.
Marcus and James.
