Good news is that WE'VE FINALLY RAISED £5000!! Thanks to all of you who have donated any amount to our cause - it's immensely satisfying seeing that big blue "100%" on our justgiving page. However, if you havn't donated just yet, don't be put off! Any amount higher than what we have would be brilliant - maybe we'll even make £6000 - wouldn't that be nice?
So the bad news - we're going to miss our 31st of October deadline. We're now more likely to arrive a week later - the 7th of November. This is due to my (Marcus) knee deciding that after about 1000 miles it's had enough, and dosn't want to move any more. It totally went a few days ago, fixed slightly overnight, and then went again. We had a rest day (this spawned from another problem, which I'll elaborate on later) and tried again. Just as we reached the Somerset-Devon border it decided no more for the final time and we've been forced to take a few days rest. We're currently resting at my uncles house, and we'll try again in about 3 days time, and hope it's fixed. If not we'll have to move on to plan B. Hopefully this won't happen, because then we'll actually have to think of a plan B.
More bad news is that punctures are becoming incredibly common now, and the other day James built his number of punctures on one wheel to a massive 11. At this, even the inner tube decided that this was too much and shredded itself. So there we were, in the middle of nowhere, with only three legs and three tyres between us, in the pouring rain. This was not ideal, so we had to limp on to the nearest village and buy another inner tube, AND visit the doctors.
So, wish my knee a speedy recovery!
Marcus.

fridge says:
Don't worry Marcus & James - this is only a small set-back in the grand scheme of things.
You haven't got far to go now & we know you can do it. A couple of days rest & recuperation
at Kim & Chris's will do you the world of good & will spur you on for the last bit! Just think, in
about 14 days time you will be home & wishing it wasn't all over (after Mum's nagging...)
