A few days ago we made it into sunny England, after about a month and a half of torturous rain, mountains and more rain. We're now sat in Alnwick, a few miles north of Newcastle, with a cup of tea from one of our sponsors!
Upon entering England we were immediately almsost mown down by a Range Rover, however since Engand we have been on the receiving end of a fair bit of sunshine! The weather here is (for once) very sunny, and we're very welcoming of it. Berwick lead us into an unplanned rest day due to a puncture which slowed us down a great deal. It certainly seemed that something did not want us to leave Berwick; we were stopped from mending the puncture by health and saftey, age restrictions (on bike glue!) and even a helicopter which landed on a mini roundabout in the middle of town. Eventualy we had to buy a new inner tube, which should hopefully last the distance! We'd especialy like to thank Margret of the White Swan B&B for all her patience, especially when oil, mud and Fridges were dragged through!
We are now about half way through our journey, and plan York as our next big destination and rest day. Wish us luck!

John & Sue says:
Hi Guys,
Sue and I stopped our car to chat to you when you were on your way to Alnwick and Morpeth, and put a tenner in your tin along with a few pound coins. Just got back from our Northumberland holiday and couldn't wait to check out your website. What you are doing is fantastic and we wish you the best of luck and hopefully no more punctures!
I had read Tony Hawkes book and as soon as I seen you two guys I guessed it must be something similar you were doing, but your idea is far tougher!!!.
Hope the good weather holds for you. We'll keep checking out your site to see how you progress.
Best wishes, John & Sue (Nuneaton,Warks & Chipping Norton, Oxon)
