There ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby! And that's what I got a taste of at the Las Vegas Hilton's Star Trek Experience and the official Star Trek Convention this August 2008!

I got to meet Jeff Combs ( Commander Shran, among others) and Brent Spiner ( Data)...and get their autographs and to speak briefly. Both guys are really great in person. It was most evident that the fans ruled and the actors there were in top form!

The costume competition was so much fun, and even though I didn't win, just being around all those creative people made my day!

I also got to meet several of my online FanLib friends, and that was the crowning portion of my EXPERIENCE, believe me! Not that I didn't enjoy talking with Jeff and kidding around with Brent or even sharing a smile and handshake with Walter Koenig, it was shaking the hands and sharing great moments with those true friends from FanLib that will be etched in my memories as the best EXPERIENCE of this year's Star Trek Con!
