Our philosophy is simple. It's so simple some may not have thought of it. LOVE. Think about it. Every thought and every action comes down to this four-letter word. It's either LOVING or UN-LOVING. Period. Every human being carries The Universal Laws inside their spirit. We'll call this our
'heart' to keep things simple. We all know, in our hearts, when we are behaving in an un-loving manner. Stealing, lying, killing, taking another man's woman, and the like are all un-loving actions that we perpetrate upon each other. We ALL know when we do these things that we are not acting in love. You know. I know. We all know.
We can try to ignore what our heart is saying by using chemicals, wine, strong drink, sex, tobacco, shopping, food, gambling, religion, and all the rest but we only tend to 'hear' that voice more and more. It can be an ugly cycle; trying to shut out our heart's voice.
We have found that the best way to live is to line up with The Universal Laws that have been placed inside our hearts by The Creator, or our Designer.
This simple philosophy and lifestyle allows us to benefit from the plants that grow on this earth. They grow here because WE NEED THEM! Without the plants, we literally will die. Ultimately, we are responsible for the way that we take care of these plants. Remember the little Dr. Seuss cartoon, The Lorax? Every human being has the responsibility of good stewardship when it comes to our planet's resources. This simply means we are supposed to take care of what is placed in our possession.
There is no group of people who can claim a higher authority than another when it comes to the plants. That is silly. Ask any child to tell you who owns the plants and see what their answer is. To be fair, I asked my six-year old son this question as I was writing this blog. He didn't even look up from his project as he gave me the answer! Children know. We all know that the plants belong to The One who created them.
However, this does not stop some groups of people from trying to control the earth's plants. This is nothing new. They have to resort to unloving tactics and violence because they are out of line with The Universe and they know it. This should not matter to us, even though it seems impossible to ignore it, especially when it is our family member or friend who is going to jail because of their lack of love. What really matters is how WE respond to them. If we also use similar unloving tactics to make our points, we end up becoming just like them.
We cannot allow them to discourage us, or to dissuade us from our tasks. It is our responsibility as human beings to do that which WE know is right. We cannot worry about the others, only about ourselves. If we remove the log from our own eye, we can see much better to help remove the splinter from another's eye.
Ultimately, we are responsible for the beings who reside in our household. If we concentrate on doing what we know to be right in this small arena; this positive energy is released to our neighbors, then to our community, our state, our nations, and the whole earth. It starts with each one of us as individuals. When we get this part right, everything else falls easily into place as it should.
In our home, we made special promises to each other and to our Creator. We promised that we would never teach our children lies. In order to fulfill our end of this promise, we have had to analyze every part of our lives to make sure we were not deceived in some way. When we are deceived, we cannot teach Truth. At best we can only hope that our leaders will not lead us to a pit. "If the blind are leading the blind, they will both fall in a pit" is a wonderful little phrase that sums this up beautifully. It doesn't matter what the 'seed' is, if it is a lie to begin with, planting it will only produce weeds, not flowers.
Most of the information surrounding Cannabis in the US is untrue. We were quite surprised (and delighted) to find that the Truth about Cannabis was exactly as we had suspected. No man can outlaw a plant for another human being. How can you tell another person that there is some kind of penalty that may involve prison and losing all that you own for growing a plant?
No one can claim ownership of a plant in order to decide its use because the plants were given to ALL men for our use. Cannabis, in fact, qualifies as FOOD!
"And Elohim(Hebrew word often substituted for the word GOD) said,
"See, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you it is for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to every creeping creature on the earth, in which there is life, every green plant is for food. And it came to be so. And Elohim saw all that He had made, and see, it was very good. And there came to be morning, the sixth day."
~From Bereshith (also called Genesis) Chapter 1: 29-31
I don't know very much about Science, or the reasons why my body feels better when I put Cannabis in it, or a product containing it, on my skin. Like a mammal to the breast, I respond instinctively to what is best for me. It's only when I listen to outside voices that I begin to doubt. Perhaps this is why we find that teens turn to Marijuana so easily. They learn quickly from their peers that Cannabis use helps them de-stress and have a good time. They are the ones using it because they are the ones who will rebel against authority in order to try it. They are using it, because they tried it! In this country, the lowest use of Cannabis is among white males over the age of 65. They don't use Cannabis because they do not try Cannabis. Most of the men in this age group were taught respect of the law, obedience to elders, and love of country. In their time, you were not considered 'patriotic' or 'loyal' if you questioned your Government, so very few did. We always hear about how terrible it was for African-Americans during the 30's, 40's, and 50's in this country. I don't know that I fully agree with this viewpoint. Blacks may not have been permitted to come into a 'White' club, but they could smoke all the Cannabis they wanted in their own clubs! I may be prejudiced, but I think this discrepancy in the social culture is most easily heard in the music of the times.
It is a simple Universal Law that says we believe what we hear and we do what we believe. If our belief is faulty, then the actions that follow will also be tainted. It won't matter how good our intentions might be. If we keep the higher Universal Laws, it will take care of the lesser laws instituted by man, even if they are ridiculous. The Universe will reward us for acting in LOVE by making it possible for us to keep the other Laws and rules that wicked men decide upon. It is our desire to live a lifestyle of LOVE and PEACE that will enable us to put up with the red tape that is required to enjoy Cannabis as a food or as medication.
For example, The higher Laws require us to think of others more highly than ourselves. Simply put, we treat people the way that we would want to be treated. As a police officer, I would not want to be called away from capturing a Rapist in order to deal with a Grow-site that has been reported to have too many plants. If we don't like the current regulations, we need to start the process of changing them. We are the people. We should be the ones figuring out how many plants are necessary for the average patient so that he maintains his supply over the winter months without needing to turn to The Black Market. As growers, we only hurt this process by disobeying the rules and growing as much as we want in order to distribute it for profit. We have to look past the immediate gratification and concern ourselves with the generations to come. If we do not regulate ourselves, there will not be any genuine strains left.
The Government is not concerned with keeping the strains intact. They are only wanting to make money off the battlesin their expensive war on drugs. They do not care to learn about Cannabis as a diet supplement nor as medication. To them, Cannabis is only a Schedule 1 drug whose use must be monitored and enforced by local government agencies in order to bring money to their agendas. Even when they learn the truth, Government leaders make the choice to ignore it in order to keep making money off those who dare to use it and grow it.
Since it is illegal to grow, consume, or distribute Cannabis in The United States (unless you are one of the eight Federal patients who receive a monthly coffee can filled with joints from our Government);there is the possibility that every one of us could be arrested, just like Eddie Lepp. We have to live our lives according to The higher Laws of LOVE. This requires FAITH, especially in the face of possible arrest. If we live according to Universal Laws, we will be okay no matter what happens. We could get arrested. There are no guarantees. Love does not demand guarantees. We simply show our allegiance to the One we believe when we decide to put our fear aside and start a Cannabis garden. We speak the Truth in Love to our fellow man every time we plant another seed. When we do this, we set a positive chain in motion that will affect every person on this planet. This is our GREEN philosophy.

Our Thanks to The Amsterdam Seed Company for their beautiful photo of the 'Zen bud' strain above. Thanks to Broderbund for the blue tree photo, and to the artist who did the tree piece.
