Why Start an Online Cannabis Community in Washington State?
I grew up in the 50's & 60's so Marijuana has been a part of my life for a good long time. I started to see the benefits to my physical body early on when I found it would ease the horrible pains I have in my back and neck, but I didn't actually start cultivating Cannabis for my own medical & spiritual reasons until I became part of the local Cannabis community while living in Oregon several years ago. My wife was the Event Coordinator for OregonGreenFree's Medical Marijuana Community so the whole family was recruited to help with the parties. Being part of a Cannabis community and an active participant in the club greatly increased my knowledge about Marijuana as medication, and gave me the information I needed to start an indoor grow. I didn't have a lot of money to get started, especially when I was having to spend every dime on expensive medication from the black market, so I was not really motivated to spend a bunch of money trying to 'get legal' and set up a garden that may or may not get busted by The Feds anyway! But, thanks to some really decent people, we finally took the plunge into the Medical Marijuana lifestyle. A really generous guy, (Thanks John!) hooked me up with a second-hand light to get started (check our "BOX" for used gardening stuff on the COMMUNITY page) and I used my 'networking' contacts to find bat guano, clones, and garden supplies. Some guy I didn't even know gave me a fabulous rooted clone at one of our monthly meetings and I HAD to succeed. I didn't want to have to tell him that I had killed his awesome gift to me when I saw him at the next meeting! I was even asked to join an Activist group and I spent a few of my weekends holding signs to get voters excited about the next Marijuana proposition. Best of all, I was introduced to beautiful people within the Medical Marijuana and Cannabis communities; like the farmer who feeds his livestock only Cannabis leaf. Talk about happy cows! Some of these contacts turned into lifetime friendships, and we learned things that have stayed with us to this day. That is my hope for Washington State, and for every patient, grower, and caregiver. Together we CAN travel this road, and have fun doing it!
Are You Ready To Enter the Cannabis Highway; the road to health, happiness, & all things GREEN?

WashingtonGreenway Express...
If you have not already done so, you are going to need to obtain your Medical Marijuana permit for Washington State
.Obtain a copy of your medical record. It must be current. (You must have received treatment for this particular ailment within the last year or have a current MRI ) For a list of medical conditions that will qualify for a medical marijuana permit, please visit the state Health Department at http://www.doh.wa.gov/
Contact the THC Clinic in Bellvue, Washington at (425-869-6186). They will have you fax your medical records to Dr. Orville and then he will call you back to schedule your appointment.*
Follow the clinic's instructions EXACTLY as they tell you (they have parking restrictions) and show up for your appointment with your money and whatever else they ask you to bring.
You will pay your fees (which vary according to your insurance plans), the Dr. will examine you, and you will be issued your permit (which is proper documentation allowing you to possess, consume, and grow Cannabis for your medical condition). If you want an actual card to keep in your wallet, you are going to have to shrink a copy of your paperwork and have it laminated and cut at a copy store, like Kinkos. (I have only seen two gentlemen take the trouble to do this for themselves). You will be given a packet outlining the laws & your rights & obligations as a patient.

What's in it for the Growers, Distributors, Dispensaries, and Product Vendors?
What this organization has to offer you is loyalty and a safe place to network with your community while you build your long-term clientele
This is not a site for one particular Garden, Distributor, Vendor, or Dispensary. This community is for EVERYONE who has something positive to offer The Washington State Medical Marijuana community and their families. We want to be able to offer our Growers the guarantee that we will be loyal to them if they will provide consistent and quality meds at affordable prices. We think our Master Growers should be rewarded for cultivating medical grade product, for growing consistently, and for educating the rest of us about the strains they are growing. To be listed as a Master Grower on this site, the grower must be nominated by three separate members, and meet our strict requirements. If you are an ethical producer, you will have no problems. We want to 'weed out' the growers who insist on shady practices such as using teens to deliver product, or those who make the client run all over the city to avoid detection by authorities. Now when a 'little old lady' with MS gets her Cannabis recommendation, she will visit this site, become a Member, and receive the 'Green List' of our recommended Master Growers and Dispensaries currently receiving new patients. We already know that the lady doesn't want to meet with a "Gangster" in a beat up vehicle down the block from The Chevron! It sounds funny, but this is how some distributors are handling their business! Some of them are no better than the dope man. This type of distributor is not what we want to recommend to our newest patients. We have found that most patients want to make one phone call or send a discreet email and have someone meet them at the monthly meeting with the product. This is what being a Caregiver is all about. For this quality treatment, our lady patient will contract with her Caregiver to work out the fair compensation for her monthly amount. The Caregiver can choose to get his patient's meds from a Master Grower, a Dispensary, or he can provide them from his own garden.
We believe those Growers and Distributors who provide medication that has been properly manicured, dried, and grown with organic ingredients should be preferred over those who wet already -dried herb, sell a poor grade product, or provide Cannabis laced with harsh chemicals that cause headaches. We want all new patients to learn how to spot quality medication so they can accept their meds from their Caregiver with complete confidence. Since the quality of Cannabis cannot be controlled, we have to teach ourselves and our Patients everything there is to know about the plant and the processes involved to get the finished product. Knowledge about the medication will ensure that high standards of quality are maintained, and genuine strains preserved for the next generation.
We also want to give our business to those Vendors who go out of their way to show up at our meetings, support our community events, and help us with all of our 'hush-hush' questions. (It is illegal to discuss Marijuana with store clerks, even if they do cater specifically to Cannabis users! You must learn the code words, and this can be very daunting to patients just starting out with no "head shop" experience!) Some of the coolest people you will ever meet are selling some amazing products just for Cannabis users. Many of them live right next door to us! These guys get to eat because we buy their products. Let's make sure we are doing our part to advertise for them by word of mouth, by our loyal support, and by actually posting their contact information on this website. Let's do the same for the Musicians and Artists within our community. At the same time, we should be giving our other business to the companies owned by the people within our Cannabis community. The businesses that support our cause need to know that it pays to support Medical Marijuana in Washington State. That is why we allow non-members to advertise on our site. Ad preference is given to our server first, then to our Paid Club Members.

What Is Happening On The Legal Side of The Fence?__68__(@0x128).jpg)
Some of us want to know what is happening politically with Washington's Medical Marijuana program. (WMMP)
This webjam is committed to providing you with the latest news and information about the issues that are important to you.
We want to know what is happening with NORML, our Nationwide Activism Group, and we desire to maintain a great working relationship with our local chapter so that we can easily rally when it is time for us to do so. We recommend that you contact NORML if you want to be more involved in the political activism scene.( www.norml.com) We challenge our politically active members to start their own activism group within this community.
Also, we have found that there is a great deal of fear among patients in this state. Knowing your legal rights as a Patient, Caregiver, Grower, or Distributor will give you and your family great peace of mind. There are basic things we all need to know, and these are addressed at every meeting so that your questions can be answered. If you cannot wait for a meeting, please email us at WashingtonGreenway@Yahoo.com. We will be glad to research the answer for you. There are many of us in the community who have had bad experiences with The Law over our Cannabis use or distribution. We have witnessed the mistakes others have made. We have even made them ourselves, suffering a great deal because of them. This does not have to happen to you! From past experience, we know that a working relationship with The District Attorney's office can help a great deal, paving the way for a Medical Marijuana program that is beneficial to all. WashingtonGreenway is willing to go to great lengths to make sure we are all heard. We just need your support behind us.
Using, carrying, & growing Cannabis does not have to be a stressful or fearful experience. That is why we are here to help you. It is time for us to view this plant the way it is supposed to be seen, as another natural health alternative, not as dangerous and criminal. Get to know and understand the current Medical Marijuana laws as they apply to us. EDUCATION IS OUR BEST WEAPON IN THIS WAR ON OUR MEDICATION!

Wow!
Your webjam has really come along. It's tricky at first but looks like you've got it now. Cheers!
Princess... Thanks for dropping by. I have personally had a medical trial of Marinol with poor results. Cannabis, to my knowledge, in natural form is not approved for use in my state. Clinical trials for Dystonia were conducted last year in Canada for efficacy with chronic pain & involuntary muscle contraction. The study showed no effect for the symptoms of Dystonia. We're always looking for the silver bullet but, the disorder is so complex there is no known cause nor cure. While some genetic defects have been identified, the mechanism by which the disorder is manifest remains hidden. Than you for the positive comments on the layout of our Webjam. The key for us was to simply keep at it. 'Less is more'. And, experiment back and forth between two, three & four columns. The Jammers at the Forum & support page are very helpful in sorting out issues.
Currently, The Medical Marijuana Program Of Washington State Is A Mess!
When we moved here two years ago, it was to make a lifelong dream of living in Washington State a reality for my wife, myself, and our two little boys. We only wanted to live our lives in peace, growing our Cannabis, hanging out near the ocean, breathing the sea air, and enjoying the lush scenery and trees. After being in the desert for a few years, this place seemed like Paradise! We had no idea that the Medical Marijuana community in Washington State was in such disarray, although the lady from The THC Clinic in Oregon told us that it was when we called to get some records transferred. (She actually told us to get the hell out of this state and get back to Oregon, where the community and program is well-established.) But, we really love it here, so we decided to be the change that was needed. The Medical Marijuana program in this state needs all of our help.
Since we have been here, we have not been able to purchase Cannabis from any distributor who knew what strains to use for particular ailments. Most often we are told, "it's pretty stoney". Although there is fabulous Cannabis being grown and distributed here, it is very difficult to find the same strain more than once, and almost impossible to find any medication for less than black market prices. The going rate for an ounce of product among members in Oregon is between 50 to two hundred dollars. Meds can be traded or borrowed between members until a crop comes in, and reasonable compensation for monthly distribution is established between each patient and their caregivers. Most of us carried more than one patient, because it is just as easy to grow for four as it is for one. The giving andsharing mentality makes it all work for everyone.
We have set up this site because we know from experience that there is strength in numbers. Each person has something to add to the whole. If you are a part of the Cannabis community in any way, even if it has previously been through the black market, we NEED your input and your participation. If we share and help each other, this attitude will catch on, and this community will grow, benefiting us all. It is kind-of hard to continue charging outlandish prices when the neighbor up the street is giving his quality medication away for his reasonable compensation, not his greed. Again, there is strength in numbers, and if we stand up as a whole and demand 'Greener' practices within this community, we will get it! What we have to offer in return is our LOYALTY.
