EmmTech  -  The Emmbrook School STEMNET club

STEMNET's vision

A society where young people, regardless of background, recognise the contribution of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to their lives and more are choosing to pursue STEM qualifications and careers.

STEMNET aims to ensure that more young people in the UK make a choice to enter science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related careers at all levels, and future generations are properly informed about the science and technology that surrounds them.

Our Aim(s) this year - 2011

1.To design and build a model race car inspired by the Bloodhound SSC project. To also take part in the F1 challenge for schools, working in teams of 2 or 3 pupils.

 2. To enter the sports challenge 2011 - design and build of a sporting venue

3. To run a STEMNET day for the whole of Year 9

The much awaited Bloodhound SSC roadshow is headed our way on the 8th July 2010. At this stage, we are targetting year 7 members and we will also bring in others from year 7 (for this show only). I hope that you agree, it is important that we show as many students and teachers as possible, some of the work we have been doing.

1st session 9.30am - 10.30am

2nd session 11.30am - 12.30am

Lunch 12.30am -

3rd session 2pm-3pm

Mrs Slyfield will be producing the student lists.

You may be wondering why we haven't started our own cars up? The reason is we are having some difficulty in ordering the fuel explosive.

I apologise for the delay, the fuel has been ordered and we will fire-up shortly. Thank you for your patience here.
