This movie is a real jewel as cape ans sword movie type. it's a film from last tendancy in the reallastic-romantic movie. It's means a story based on true historical events according to historians knowledge about this period. Prehaps in a next future they will discover some errors or a large hidden reality about this dark age period...

This movie is a reflect about what's happening during war of crusades. The atmosphere, story, characteres are very realistics. Director kept the essential things of this period about men who wrote this dark age story. Facts are not really believer to reality but Ridley Scott's movie was greatly inspired by them. A lot of points didn't really represent what happenned for few real characters who lived during this time.

I let you read different point of view and historical search through another websites about crusades and characters of this Kingdom of Heaven's movie. You just have to know a lot great actors are into this movie and are good representant of their character. They play wonderfully these great men from our past.

in the beginning, you will see Orlando Bloom completely down after the lost of his wife. He is et intrigued by the visit of a crusader, named as Baron Godefroy d'Ibelin, who searching him. Orlando (nommé Balian) apprend très rapidement que ce Baron est son père qui vient le chercher pour aller en terre sainte pour combattre les sarazins. Baron's character played by Liam Neeson was not a real characters in our history but he was a mixed one of two real persons : father of Balian, named Barisan d'Ibelin (surnamed the Old one to compare him to Balian called the young, Barisan was for them a contraction of their name Balian) and Godefroy de Bouillon who was the man who refused to become a king.

To appreciate characer's valor of Liam Neeson (Godefroy d'Ibelin), you must know he play a legendary warrior who have a great intellectual skills and fighting skills too.Godefroy de Bouillon is similar as the fictional character because he was one of this men who permit to conquer Jerusalem on the first crusade. He was one of the only man to refuse to become king when his followers gave to him the golden crown. He prefer to be just a Baron and "avoué du Saint Sépulcre". He didn't recognize legitimity of a king in this place where Jesus Christ wore the crown of thorn. Game power or just spiritual act of faith anyone could say what he really wanted but it's in this context as you must see this fictional Godefroy d'Ibelin, a knight with big heart who follow his own principles of chivalry. He is a loyal man and straight as Godefroy de Bouillon, descendant of emperor Charlemagne.

In this movie he was a mixed of two generations, as father played by Liam Neeson and son by Orlando Blum. Character is equally recognize as an honorable man. The exploitation of the exploit and the righteousness of the father will not be usurped by fictional Balian d' Ibelin. he will fight really hard against one of the greatest muslim kings named Saladin.

He was a great lord with lot of principles which  go beyond the religious confession. characters very altruist, he was the muslim leader by combination of circonstances. This man tried to unify muslims and fight francs warriors to win Jerusalem.

In the movie, this character as same reflect of the real one, he show to us what visionnary man he was and the humanity who he tried to kept and teach to his followers. He fight for his people not really for the religion aspect. you could see it in the movie how he react to religious aspect and another demonstration of it about his men and his enemy some crusaders.

King of Jerusalem was an old leper teenager when he told about his victory against Saladin when he fight as king for the first time some years ago. He was a good leader and tacticianeven if could be best as Saladin. Saladin used few things known in the Sun Tsu books. We could believe he read it before his fight, it was not an impossible thing in this period because muslims had some establishments in China since really long time ago.

To return to the film story, I think you will like it. he had a pleasant tone, all Hollywood stuff are in it. I don't do a list for you but keep on your mind it's as reallistic story with good actors to play important characters. Magie operates under the eyes of Ridley Scott. Of course, you must loved this type of dark age movie. Characters are really well performed and their story well developped, good reflect of this time and people like Guy de Lusignan and another knights. Decorations and elements used for costumes are simply realistic, the universe is totally credible and adapted well contained by what we know of the history.

I let you appreciate the trailer of the film which went out in 2005 with a $130 budget millions and which earned $208,3 millions. It reach to 300 better films for term of profitability.
