The recital will present works by Haydn, Liszt, Ravel and Grieg. A freewill offering to benefit the hunger missions of Churches United of the Quad-Cities will be taken. &ldquo;It gives me great pleasure to be able to &lsquo;come home&rsquo; and perform some beautiful music and also help a good cause,&rdquo; <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Sale</st1:place></st1:city> comments.</p><p><span style="color: black">Born and raised in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Moline</st1:place></st1:city>, Craig Sale now </span><span style="color: black">maintains an active professional career in the <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Chicago</st1:place></st1:city> area as teacher, author, clinician and pianist. While growing up in the Quad-Cities he was active with the Moline Boys&rsquo; Choir and QC Music Guild. He graduated from <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Moline</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">High School</st1:placetype></st1:place> in 1975. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Music degree from <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Northwestern</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place> and a Master of Music degree from the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Illinois</st1:placename></st1:place> at Urbana-Champaign. Following graduate study he served as a teaching fellow at The New School for Music Study in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Princeton</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">NJ</st1:state></st1:place>. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style="color: black">Since 1983, <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Sale</st1:place></st1:city> has established himself as a highly respected teacher in the <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Chicago</st1:place></st1:city> metropolitan area. He has served as Director of the Preparatory and Community Piano Program at Concordia University Chicago in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">River Forest</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">IL</st1:state></st1:place> since its inception in 1986. He also teaches courses in piano pedagogy at Concordia where he helped establish a Certificate in Piano Pedagogy curriculum. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p><st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on"><span style="color: black">Sale</span></st1:place></st1:city><span style="color: black"> is the co-author of <i>The Music Tree 3: Activities</i> and <i>The Music Tree 4: Activities</i><span>, published by Alfred Publishing. </span>Since 2000, he has served as Associate Editor for <i>Clavier Companion, </i>a bi-monthly magazine for pianists and piano teachers.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style="color: black">As a workshop and master class clinician, <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Sale</st1:place></st1:city> has appeared throughout the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region>. He frequently serves as adjudicator for various music teacher organizations. Wow! The parade marshal was Carol &quot;Red&quot; Pierson, an active volunteer to St. Pius, Am legion, Sr softball, etc. The Citizen's Awards were in the paper and all rode in the Parade. </div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The award presentation will be <span style="font-weight: bold" class="Apple-style-span">Oct 6 at 6:30pm in the RI City Council chambers</span>. Last time I went with some of the CE kids.&nbsp;</div><div>I'd appreciate Stacy, Don.
