Innovation

Interaction through causal dialogues often inspires ideas, and we’ve seen that great ideas have been passed-by everyday due to the lack of an effective process to turn them into deliverable business tactics.  The key is to what organisations do with ideas?

Our Solution

Our Social Innovation Flow solution helps organisations to follow through with a result-driven process from idea generation to filtering, and then to approval for execution. Firstly, contributors of the internal social network are encouraged to add causal ideas or bring real-life observations to the online aggregation portal. Once the idea is identified, a ranking or voting function (such as a simple ‘like’ button) assigned to either all users or specific managers can then be applied to filter out good ideas from mediocre ones. This helps eliminate the problem of information overload and helps senior executives to concentrate on materialising the good ideas. A comment or review section can also be added to help employees improve their ideas in a true co-creation environment.

Next, ideas that received a percentage of votes can be automatically put through the process of further development.  Again, all users or specific members of the internal community will be alerted about these ideas so they can either discuss the ideas further in team meetings, or to set the execution process into motion depending on the scale of the idea.

Innovation involves more than just an idea, which needs to be built upon and put to practical use. A structured procedure of materialising ideas and turning them into measurable actions is essential to delivering ROI from a social media strategy.
