Soccer Babies Vision
Soccer Babies is a project that supports the creation and development of youth football clubs in Africa. Our vision is to harness the passion for football in order to further local development, education, and child nutrition thereby significantly improving the lives of all of the people living in the local community where a club is domiciled. The project aims to combine novel fundraising concepts with a need to provide resources and support for aspiring youth football club start-ups in Africa.
The inspiration behind the Soccer Babies project was the formation and development of The Babies FC in Ghana. The club was formed in October 2007 by a local teacher in the local village of Kanvilli Tunaayili, in Tamale, Ghana, where unemployment runs at some 95%. The club became the pilot club behind the Soccer Babies project helping to create the 'blueprint' for the organisation's approach.
