The students at SKLPC Saturday School together with staff members performed at the SKLPC annual function this year.

The performance demonstrated a mix of bharatnatyam and bollywod dance, that was carefully put together to enable students of all ages to showcase what they had learnt throughout the year.

Next week will be the last day of term. Fisrt day back and start of the summer term will be Saturday 30th April 2011.

For those of you that attended the Diwali party last year you will know something about Bala-Gokulam. Bala-Gokulam teaches children to appreciate, learn and practice a Hindu way of life. enables children to appreciate their roots, learn values, make good friends and develop a sense of sewa. This is achieved with fun activities such as games, yoga, stories, bhajan, shloka, arts and crafts and competitions.

These free classes will take place at the Saturday School between 11am and 12pm and for any child of 5 years and older.

Our annual Diwali Party will be held on Saturday 13th November 2010, starting at 11am and will finish at 2.30pm.

Diwali Class Activites

All Gujarati students who normally attend the classes at 11am are requested to come at 8.45am to join the morning children in taking part in some fun Diwali related activities.

At 10.45am all the children will be taken to the hall for the start of the Diwali party.  All parents are invited to join the party with their children.  

If any parents are interested in helping with any of the above activities or to serve food on the day please let us know.

Competitions

• Essays in Gujarati, Diwali cards, Rangoli, Aarti, Diva (Bal Mandir, Level 1 and Level 2).
• Teachers mithai competition.
• Each class will compete for the best display.

Some Classes will run as normal:

• Gujarati Pre-GCSE and GCSE class  - students will continue their lessons at the earlier time of 8.45 am to ensure they finish the curriculum before the end of the academic year.
