Written on 29-Jul-2007 by sizemoreI could never understand why someone who didn't know me, the IRA, would want to harm me. And I couldn't understand why someone would do something so ugly. And I struggle to find beauty in everyone and everywhere because of it.

Written on 15-Jul-2007 by sizemoreSatoru Iwata gleefully tells The Times that he is swimming in a clear sea teeming with women, pensioners and repentant couch potatoes... he is explaining his belief in the "Blue Ocean" theory of business, which says that to succeed you must reach markets (blue oceans) that are free from competitors. Venturing into "bloody red oceans", where packs of rivals fight tooth and nail, can only lead to failure. The central premise – that it is best to zig when others zag – sums Mr Iwata up perfectly.via

Written on 15-Jul-2007 by sizemoreFacebook isn’t just a school toy or “yet another social network.” From what I’m learning, it’s a pretty useful system that can be used very effectively to build a very vibrant network, provide excellent tools (especially with lots of good 3rd party apps), and then provide you the chance to use it to DO SOMETHING. I believe that Grasshoppers is a great way to prove this. Join the group. Determine what we’re doing and how you can apply yourself to it. And then dig in. Turn social networking into action.Thats a jawdropping idea. Especially seeing as so many people seem to use it for nothing more powerful than sharing photos of old school friends ie. a dusty box best left under your fucking bed. PS

Written on 11-Jul-2007 by sizemoreHi. I’m Mike Atherton. I do a bunch of things, but first and foremost I'm a writer. This page is my portal to the rest of the interweb, and also a working example of the first element of a comprehensive personal network - or webjam.
You can learn more about webjamming here. I'm an editor and manager for the Webjam community, or in Web 2.0 speak, an evangelist. If you have any questions regarding the site please feel free to get in touch. My email address is mikesizemore[at]gmail[dot]com.
If you want to know more about what I do here then Visible Monsters III is a good place to start.
Aside from Webjam you can find me in a couple of other places online:
This is a semi-static page so things here will change from time to time. Feel free to come back anytime or stalk me using any of the above links. More importantly, please let me know what YOU are doing with Webjam. I'll try my best to keep on top of all the various communities that make a home here, but don't be scared about dropping me a line to remind me to check out what you are up to.
Happy Jammin'

That is a thing you want to remember if you work in either journalism or politics – or both, like
I do – and there is no way to duck it. You will be flogged for being
right and flogged for being wrong, and it hurts both ways – but it
doesn’t hurt as much when you’re right.
