So what does this mean? Well, it means lots of good things.

First, it will allow RoLI to build a social network on the internet. Having our own social network means we can up-date our members on what we are doing, debate issues on our forum, start conversations, post pictures and videos and much more.

Second, it allows all us volunteers do get to know each other. We will get to see who the other volunteers are, what they do and share ideas and thoughts. This has proved to be difficult for many of us over the past few months because, simply, we can't all volunteer at the same time. Moreover, we can work on project, for example fundraising, together over the internet, keep track on who is doing what, as well as share files. We can do all of this in a password protected environment. Again, this has been difficult to do because everyone who works on a particular project does not volunteer in the office with the other people working on the task.

Third, it gives RoLI a website that potential volunteers and supporters can visit to learn more about us and what we do.

2009 has been a great year for RoLI and week 3 of this new year was no exception. Lot's of new faces came to have some hot and nutritious food (cooked and served by a talent team) and there has also been plenty of new volunteers, who we are looking forward to working with over the coming months.

We served over 70 meals (including Spaghetti Bologonase cooked by a real Italian!) as well as providing tea, coffee and clothes where needed. Special thanks must go to Pret a Manger who have been providing us with a fantastic selection of sandwiches.
