Hi everyone I'm Rhys. I was born on the 21st of feb 2008 in Bristol at 8.19pm. In the room to welcome me was my mummy, Teresa and my daddy Mark. I live in Plymouth, Devon, UK. And had to go to Bristol to be born as when i was tiny in my mummys belly, she found out i had a poorly heart. At first they told mummy that I had a condtion either called Tetralogy of Fallot or Tricuspid Atresia.

However when i was born that night, the doctors did a special scan and found out i do not have these conditons, Infact I have a dysplasis of the tricuspid and pulmonary valves, hypoplatstic right ventrical and an asd (a small hole in the top of my heart)

Mummy says this means, that my Right ventrical is slightly smaller than adverage. My tube going to my lungs is closed still and should have opened after birth, and my valve is in an abnormal shape. I havent had to have any operations, and my mummy and daddy are very proud of me and think i am a miracle!

I will keep you updated from time to time to tell you all how im doing!

The Chosen One

I had a dream the other night,
It came to me so clear.
I stood before the throne of God,
afraid to come too near.
God said to me “I hear your prayers,
there’s answers you can’t find.
I asked you here to talk to me
and help to ease your mind”
I said “Well yes God, I am disturbed
about my special one.
That punishment is awfully harsh.
Whatever have I done?”
God looked at me and shook his head
and said “You’ve got it wrong.
I sent this special child to you
because you are so strong”
“I searched and searched to try and find
someone with love so rare.
A parent so unselfish they could
give that special care.
I try and save my special gifts
like those your speaking of
for special kinds of parents
I call the chosen ones”
Of all the ones to choose from,
I think this I have done.
A parent who deserves my best,
an honor you have won.
