Premium Services explained
What do I need to create a Premium webjam?
You need to have registered on Webjam and have a username.
You also require an already-established webjam that you wish to upgrade to Premium.
How do I upgrade my webjam to a Premium webjam?
To upgrade, you will need to sign in and go to your webjam (accessible from the ‘webjams’ link in the top bar). Navigate to the 'settings' tab of your webjam, and click the Premium Services tab to read an explanation of each feature and choose a Premium Services plan. Once you choose a plan click the ‘Upgrade to Premium’ button to advise your billing details and make payment. You will then see a confirmation page and be sent two emails – a Webjam confirmation email and a receipt email from our billing partner PayPal.
How long does it take for my webjam to be made Premium?
As soon as you complete your Premium Services payment your webjam will be upgraded to Premium.
If you wish to domain map your webjam you will need to submit the domain URL in the ‘settings’ tab of your webjam and Webjam will automatically map this to your webjam.
You should complete DNS configuration at your domain registrar before upgrading to Premium as it can take your domain registrar some time to redirect your domain to your webjam (up to a week in some cases). However, you can domain map your webjam at any time (from the ‘settings’ tab) after you purchase this Premium Services feature.
How do I domain map my site?
There are three steps to domain map your webjam to your domain.
First purchase your domain from a Domain Name Registrar.
Complete your domain mapping by visiting your Domain Name Registrar. Go to the DNS Management services and change the CNAME making the domain point at the IP name: webjam.com, thus:
domain name CNAME webjam.com
If CNAME isn't possible, you can also set an A record making the domain point at the IP address: 89.234.19.242
See the bottom of these FAQs for Domain Name Registrar specific help.
If you have any issues you will need to contact your Domain Name Registrar for support. Webjam is unable to assist with DNS configuration.
Second, complete the Premium Services application. On your webjam, go to the ‘settings’ tab and click on the 'Premium Services tab' and purchase domain mapping (Use domain name) from Webjam.
Third, on your webjam, go to the ‘settings’ tab and under the 'Standard Settings' tab submit your domain name (URL) for your domain to be automatically mapped to your webjam.
What’s the difference between domain mapping and domain forwarding?
Domain mapping allows you to point your own registered domain name (e.g. www.mywebsite.com) to your webjam. Domain mapping is more than domain forwarding because your URL and each of your webjam pages contain the address of your domain. Each webjam page is separately mapped, for example www.webjam.com/me/page1 will be seen as www.mywebsite.com/page1.
Domain mapping makes it easier for visitors to navigate through your site and allows you to easily link to each page.
Webjam offers a domain mapping service.
I want both www.mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com to point to my webjam, what do I do?
Webjam can only map one domain to any one webjam. In order to get two domains to direct to one webjam, at your domain registrar alter the www.mywebsite.com to be a CNAME for mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com to point to IP: 89.234.19.242
Submit your domain as www.mywebsite.com within the ‘settings’ tab.
Can I map a subdirectory?
You can not map a subdirectory such as www.mywebsite.com/webjam to your webjam.
However, you can map webjam.mywebsite.com to your webjam or you can place a redirect on www.mywebsite.com/webjam to go to the orginial webjam URL.
My website URL remains www.mysite.com even when I click through different pages, why is this?
You have set up domain forwarding. You need to domain map your site. Please see the answer to the question: What are the steps for domain mapping my site? for more information.
Can I upgrade my webjam to Premium before I have a domain name?
Yes, you can domain map your webjam at any time (from the ‘settings’ tab within your webjam) after you purchase this Premium Services feature. Under 'settings' you will see the heading 'Domain Name:' and you need to click on the text 'Click here to set' to enter the URL (web address) of your domain, e.g. www.mydomain.com
How do I remove ads or add my own ads?
Once you have purchased this Premium Services feature you are able to remove all Advertisements modules on your webjam.
To delete the Advertisements module from your webjam you need to sign in and on your webjam click the 'edit site' tab. Click the delete button 'X' in the header of the Advertisements module.
To add your own ads, copy and paste the HTML code from your ad supplier (for example Google AdSense) and add this to a Free HTML module (from modules>My content) on your webjam.
If you are using Google AdSense they provide help for this under the heading 'Adding AdSense to my site' in their support pages: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/
What type of support do I get as a Premium member? Is this free?
Webjam offers support to Premium members in a dedicated webjam that only Premium members can join. Any Premium-related queries are answered in the forums on this webjam. Webjam also offers a dedicated email address for Premium users to query any Premium-related issue they may have.
For any other support Premium users can submit their comment/issue via the ‘Contact Webjam’, ‘Report inappropriate content’ or ’Report a bug’ links the bottom of all Webjam pages and this will be responded to by our Customer Service team.

Webjam is offering a Bundled Premium package, allowing you to purchase all products for an introductory price of £19.95/month or £99/year. Webjam bills at the beginning of the payment period, whether that be monthly or yearly. You should wait until the expiry of your payment plan & Bundled Premium package and then upgrade your webjam to Premium and enter your new credit card details.

Webjam allows users to sell products from their webjams provided you comply with Webjam’s Terms and Conditions. Webjam does not charge for commercial sites – anyone can set up a webjam and use it however they wish. Webjam encourages commercial sites to use Premium Services or Branded Services.
Webjam are planning to incorporate a payment system for small businesses. If you wish to have further information about this please contact bizdev(at)webjam-ltd.com stating your requirements and/or query.

To cancel your subscription to your Premium Services plan, sign in to your webjam, go to the 'settings' tab, then the 'Premium Services' tab. As a Premium member you will see a 'Cancel this service' button which allows you to unsubscribe your webjam from Premium Services. After you cancel you will receive an email from Webjam stating that at the end of your payment period your webjam will no longer be subscribed to Premium Services.
