What do I need to apply for Premium?
You need to have joined Webjam and have a username.
You need to have an already-established webjam that you wish to be made Premium.
Please note: that it is the webjam and not the user that is made Premium. Therefore if you wish to have several webjams that you want to be Premium, you must apply for each one in a separate application.
What are the steps for domain mapping my site?
Purchase your domain from a Domain Name Registrar.
Complete your domain mapping by visiting your Domain Name Registrar. Go to the DNS Management services and change the CNAME making the domains point at the IP name: webjam.com, thus:
domain name CNAME webjam.com
If CNAME isn't possible, you can also set an A record making the subdomains point at the IP address: 89.234.19.242
If you have completed this correctly you should see this page: http://www.webjam.com/domain_map_incomplete or see that your domain is now mapped to your webjam.
See the bottom of these FAQs for Domain Name Registrar specific help.
If you have any issues you will need to contact your Domain Name Registrar for support. Webjam is unable to assist with DNS configuration.
What’s the difference between domain mapping and domain forwarding?
Domain mapping allows you to point your own registered domain name (e.g. www.mywebsite.com) to your webjam. Domain mapping is more than domain forwarding because your URL and each of your webjam pages contain the address of your domain. Each webjam page is separately mapped, for example www.webjam.com/me/page1 will be seen as www.mywebsite.com/page1.
Domain mapping makes it easier for visitors to navigate through your site and allows you to easily link to each page.
Webjam offers a domain mapping service.
How long does it take for my webjam to be made Premium?
It takes Webjam approximately 24 hours (during normal working days) to update your webjam, if the form has been submitted correctly. The domain registrar can take a long time to redirect your domain to your webjam. Sometimes the redirect is done within 1 hour or within 1 day, however, some registrars will take up to a week to make changes.
What do I do if it’s been longer than a week and my site hasn’t been domain mapped?
Check your email account as you may have been sent an email stating a reason why your webjam could not be processed.
If you received an email confirming your webjam has been made Premium but domain mapping hasn't occurred then please contact Webjam by replying to your confirmation email. Ensure you include your username, webjam URL and your domain name.
I want both www.mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com to point to my webjam, what do I do?
Webjam maps one domain to any one webjam. In order to get two domains to direct to one webjam, alter the www.mywebsite.com to be a CNAME for mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com to point to IP: 89.234.19.242 – this then gives the correct name to Webjam for processing.
Can I map a subdirectory?
You can not map a subdirectory such as www.mywebsite.com/webjam to your webjam.
However, you can map webjam.mywebsite.com to your webjam or you can place a redirect on www.mywebsite.com/webjam to go to the orginial webjam URL.
My website URL remains www.mysite.com even when I click through different pages, why is this?
You have set up domain forwarding. You need to domain map your site. Please see the answer to the question: What are the steps for domain mapping my site? for more information.
Can I upgrade my webjam to Premium before I have a domain name?
You need to have a domain name before you request domain mapping for your webjam as this can not be done retrospectively.
How do I remove ads/add my own ads?
Once you have Premium services on your site you are able to remove the Advertisements module on your page.
To delete the Advertisements module from your webjam you need to Sign in on your webjam and click the 'edit site' tab. Click the 'X' in the header of the Advertisements module.
To add your own ads, copy and paste the HTML code from your ad supplier (for example Google AdSense) and add this to a Free HTML module (from modules>My content) on your webjam.
If you are using Google AdSense they provide help for this under the heading 'Adding AdSense to my site' in their support pages: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/
Am I allowed to sell products/services on Webjam?
Webjam allows users to sell products from their webjams provided you comply with Webjam’s Terms and Conditions. Webjam does not charge for commercial sites – anyone can set up a webjam and use it however they wish. Webjam encourages commercial sites to use Premium Services or Branded Services.
Webjam are planning to incorporate a payment system for small businesses. If you wish to have further information about this please contact bizdev at webjam-ltd.com stating your requirements and/or query.
What type of support do I get as a Premium member? Is this free?

For any other support you can submit your comment/issue via the ‘Contact Webjam’, ‘Report inappropriate content’ or ’Report a bug’ links the bottom of every Webjam page and this will be responded to by our Customer Service team.
