Who will join me by putting in a euro for Nick Griffin's Christmas present?

... I was thinking of an album by "The Last Poets":

And actually related to the song, fortunately - in this case at least - a revolutions is ebbing forward.

OK, so I'm not in Jo'burg, unfortunately it's not Friday night and there's no prospect of the sun shining here in Berlin for the next five months.Still, should that immediately halt some fun loving frivolity entering our world at any time? I think not.

Pop how I like it:

Rest in Peace!

Is it possible for a beat to be too hardcore? ... Well, not in my CD collection, it's not.

Some others favour the perhaps slightly better known "Afro-shox" or "Open Up" (the latter from the same album as the following) or, of course, the Guiness advert. Yes it has a name, "Phat Planet". Anyway, here's Leftfield with Afro-Left:

I would not exactly recommend it as a hard and fast rule, but I find a large % of the tunes I like to revisit from my youth on youtube feature just a picture of the album cover. ... Here is another example. This is not the original version on the album "Uprising", but the 12" remix (available on later CD releases of the same album as a bonus track). This gets the label "Mad Stylees Quali-ee" in my book:

"We've got a mind of our own,
So go to hell if what you're thinking is not right!
Love would never leave us alone,
Against the darkness there must come out to light.

Could you be loved?"

For reasons not explicitly known to myself (though quite possibly connected to more than probably having a massive ego), I drew this picture about six years ago with the intention of making a tape of ...

I do not believe that I ever actually even made the tape ...

For the connoisseurs of the dimensions of my ego, the picture, of course, contains a second element of narcissism.

Cá o email do João:

pessoas queridas

The following email from João arrived in my emails a week ago. Without too many comments, I present you with the theatre that he did in the streets of Berlin. It is fairly clear that he and his colleagues take the ideas of the dramatist Augusto Boal as an influence ... The fact that I found a book about Invisible Theatre and the Theatre of the Opressed in the street almost appears like a coincidence to me (it is very common that people leave books, videos and records to take with you free here in this city). ... Yesterday, in a bar Damián and I talked about using Forum Theatre to teach social competnecies in schools: the topic of another post, I believe!!

Here, the email from João:

Dear people,

this is the video from the last theatre project I worked on as an actor ...invisible theatre! ... the people did not know that it was theatre...with the improvised contact, they believed that perhaps something was going on!but they were not sure... the intention was to invoke a sense of discomfort and to poke at the solidarity of passers by...we asked for a room to stay, alongside reading out passages from texts!

buff!...it was very interesting to watch the different reactions !

De lata (no sentido brasileiro)!!!

Brilliant!!
