ATENAS (GRECIA).- Un grupo de jóvenes ha colocado una pancarta gigante en el muro del recinto arqueológico de la Acrópolis de Atenas con el lema de "Resistencia" en varios idiomas, según han informado medios de comunicación locales.
Los estudiantes han llamado a la emisora Alpha y han informado de que la pancarta, de 360 metros cuadrados, está colocada en la parte noroeste de la colina que domina el centro de la ciudad y es en memoria de Alexis Grigoropoulus, el adolescente que murió por un disparó de un policía el 6 de diciembre en un barrio de la capital.
Otra pancarta en la misma colina convoca una concentración para mañana, "Día Paneuropeo de Solidaridad", de las organizaciones izquierdistas contra la "opresión del Estado".
Según el canal estatal NET, la policía obligó a los estudiantes a retirar las pancartas.
Además, medio centenar de personas han ocupado las oficinas de la Confederación General de Trabajadores de Grecia (GSEE) pidiendo que el sindicato convoque para mañana una huelga general de 24 horas en protesta contra la violencia policial y la situación económica.
En la ciudad de Salónica, en el norte del país, unos desconocidos ocasionaron daños materiales al hacer estallar bombonas de gas en la sucursal de un banco y en las oficinas de un Centro de Información para los ciudadanos, ha informado la policía.
Los estudiantes y escolares tienen previsto concentrarse hoy frente a los tribunales de Atenas en apoyo de los detenidos durante las 10 días de disturbios por la muerte del joven.
Desde el pasado día 6 han sido 200 personas, según informó el Grupo de Solidaridad de Abogados formado para apoyar a dichos arrestados.
Para esta tarde, los trabajadores y estudiantes comunistas han previsto una concentración en el centro de Atenas.
La Federación de Docentes de Educación Secundaria (OLME) ha convocado a un paro hoy en el centro de la capital al final de las dos horas de clases.
Más de 600 colegios en el país se encuentran ocupados o con clases suspendidas desde la muerte de Grigorópulos.

The other called for demonstrations throughout the continent Thursday, when students plan major marches in Athens and Greece's second largest city of Thessaloniki to protest the death of 15-year-old Alexandros Grigoropoulos, killed in a police shooting on Dec. 6.
The government was furious at the use of Greece's most famous monument.
"There can be no justification for this action," government spokesman Evangelos Antonaros said. "This hurts the image of our country abroad ... it is unacceptable."
Although sparked by Grigoropoulos' death, the riots were fed by dissatisfaction with the increasingly unpopular conservative government and widespread anger over social inequality and economic hardship.

3 years ago, becose at this time i think that DAILYMOTION and VIMEO are a more
powerfull quality tools. YOUTUBE have the force of the numbers, but there are other places with more quality. I mean... from our perspective WHY shoot on Red One, HD or Cine cameras to compress everything in a crapppppy youtube video?
Im only asking, only thinking about that, why YOUTUBE is using the strategy of
still using this low quality? (ok they have improved, but JA!)
Today there are HD user cameras for 400€(500$) and this x-mas are going to break on sales (with the new Nintendo DS and i hope Bluerays, its not only a professional need, now begins to be a hobby need too.
