This is my Yoron Island album. If I would be more computer savy or would have chosen another site than webshots I might be able to download the images.
As of now I can't. So go ahead and look at the album, then come back here..............................
........do you like what you see?
It's beautiful, isn't it? Do you have a long weekend? Need some quiet time?
We booked this trip last year through Kadena ITT. It was for one night, dinner, breakfast, and ferry ride. If I remember right this cost us about 138,- a person, BUT prices might have changed by now. The ferry leaves at Motobu port. You can't miss it and directions are provided by Kadena ITT. You leave from Motobu Port about 9 ish and get to Yoron somewhere around noon. Be aware that check in into your room is not until around 14:00.
A van will pick you up from the port and drive you to the hotel. Now you have about 2 hours to kill. We went for a swim on the beautiful beach and then had a great lunch at the restaurant. It was actually pretty good and not over priced at all. You can store your luggage in a room by the reception desk so you don't have to carry it everywhere.
Check into your room and then head for the beach. This is the epitome of beach/holiday/relaxation. Get a beach chair ( it is free with the coupon you receive when you check in) and go ahead and order a drink. I had a "blue one" and it was very strong. So, I ask for it to be diluted with orange juice. The next time I ordered it the new bartender was instructed by the girl that mixed my drink the first time on how I wanted it done, exactly the same as the first time. Fantastic customer service.
The beach is great! Enjoy, relax and meet people.
Dinner is either BBQ or Japanese. We chose BBQ. Basically you cook your own meal at the table. It was wonderful to watch the sunset and just chill.

The night was spent in the most wonderful way I could have imagined with my husband, but, I don't kiss and tell. Unless you meet me in person:)
The next morning we woke up to a great beach. Go down to the vending machine and get your coffee, because there is only tea in the rooms.
look at the morning beach here:

Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m. and is entirely Japanese. So expect runny scrambled eggs and some kind of fish. I did, however, love the chicken nuggets and I did try the beans and rice. All in all I ended up full and satisfied.
Then we booked a trip to Yurigahama Beach.

This beach is off shore and only appears during low tide. Sometimes lower than others. When we went there the water was about thigh high..
Now go and scoop up some sand. Notice the "star shaped" sand? It is actually plankton that died and left it's shell behind. If you have time go on the additional snorkeling trip. The skipper will throw bait in the water and make sure you see some great underwater life. A bus will bring you back to the hotel.
Checkout is before the trip is over so you have to store your luggage by the front desk again. Go and take a shower in the facilities by the beach. Have lunch and wait for the bus to drive you to the port to catch the ferry.
A side note on the ferry ride. The accomodations are "take your shoes off and lay down". Honestly, I hated it. It smelled like dirty feet. I tried to spent most of my time on deck, but it is not very comfortable either. There is lots of engine noise, fumes, and wind.
All in all a great trip. Carl and I decided we would do this one again.
Make sure you click on my links above. I am so sorry I couldn't download the pictures. They are well worth it. I promise:)
