Back to Fantasy Football Written on 27-Apr-2010 by RichPLKevin Bethell produced a magnificent April to take him into 2nd place and put the Gash Hunters within touching distance of Chris Mitchell's untouchables; Inter The Pub. 'Trigger' also scooped the Manager of the Month award after finishing clear of everyone in both competitions, bagging an outstanding monthly score of 396.
Chris Mitchell finished the month in 2nd spot on 322, keeping him 12 points clear at the summit. CM finished 3rd in the Premier League game, whilst his 2nd string, Winton Mubutu, also ended April in 3rd place. With such a close points difference and just 2 Premier League games and 1 round of Championship matches left to play, it could all come down to the last kick of the season to see if Mitchell can retain his Championship crown.
Seemingly out of the running is Only Fools & Heskey manager Dave Cather, who is coming under-fire after a torrid month. 'Coy' finished the month down in 5th place, putting to end any hopes he had of winning something for another year, after his latest humiliation, sections of the crowd jeered the Keyworth Crusader who now faces an uncertain future.
The fight for 4th place took another twist with Alright Dave sneeking above 'That Man Dan', who incidentally correctly predicted before a ball was kicked in August, 'we'd all be Cohen to Wembley'. Dave finished the month in 3rd whilst Dan was left frustrated back in 10th place.
Elsewhere, Hawkeye closed the gap on his neighbour (in the A-Block~ Dan), to 5 points, whilst Gerbil Remedies finished the month in 6th and stands 8th overall. PL had a season high of 4th place for the month and for the first time in his career, lifted himself off the foot of the table and out the relegation zone. FC Clunge Plunged to the depths of despair dropping to bottom place after scoring the lowest points tally of 212.
Finally a special mention for Johnny, fresh from his Indian takeaway, i mean getaway, who despite taking the time to pick a side seems to have been overlooked for the entire season. Standing 9th overall, NFFC Old-boys has done himself proud.
April standings: Trigs 396, CM 322, Alright 321, PL 304, Coy 296, Gerb 284, Deano 281, Hawks 280, Oldroyd 279, Dan 262, Johnny 261, Glenn 212.
