Lets hope the next time I prepare a Forest game preview the game is in August as Forest head into what will be the third consequtive final day of the season where Forest go into their final game hoping for results elsewhere to go in their favour. This time they hope it will be third time lucky as draws at Bradford and at home to Crewe last season have meant Forest have failed in their pre-match ambition.
Forest will be hoping that the season ends with the team that were the final opponents last season when Yeovil visit the City Ground.
Yeovil have suffered a hangover from last season what is becoming a regular occurrence for Play Off Final losers, only securing safety from relegation a couple of weeks ago when they had a surprise victory at Swansea. They are still managed by former Notts County manager and self confessed Forest fan Russell Slade, who has been angry with some of the criticism he has received during some home games.
This change in fortunes could well have been influenced by the summer transfer of Chris Cohen and Arron Davies to Forest .Goalscoring has been their major problem this season with Yeovil the lowest scoring team in the division with them only managing 36 goals in the 45 league games so far. This was highlighted as they brought their home league season to a conclusion on Friday night when a goal from former Forest striker Dougie Freedman gave Leeds a 1-0 win.
