Forest hope that this coming Friday will be as good as the previous one when they make their first ever visit to the Keepmoat Stadium to visit promotion rivals Doncaster Rovers.
With the form of Swansea and Carlisle the game is a must win for both sides should they hope to gatecrash the automatic promotion positions.
Doncaster will be hoping for a return to the form of the start of the month where they won four consecutive games rather than the recent return that has only seen one point gained from the last three matches.
They are managed by Sean O’Driscoll who joined from Bournemouth in September 2006 to replace Dave Penney who had taken Doncaster from Non-League to League One during his spell in charge.
It has been a long way back for Doncaster who lost their league status following the 1997/98 season and at one stage looked like going out of business as the entered a period of administration. However they were taken over shortly after by lifelong fan John Ryan who has invested over £5million to rejuvenate the club. This culminated last season when they left their old Belle Vue Stadium where Forest were the last visitors to move to the new modern Keepmoat Stadium.
Likely to be included in the Rovers squad will be former Forest captain Gareth Taylor who joined from Tranmere in January although his appearances have been restricted to appearances from the bench so far. Also likely to feature is Brian Stock who O’Driscoll signed from Preston North End shortly after his appointment. He is a player O’Driscoll knows well as Stock started his career at Bournemouth under O’Driscoll’s management. Stock will have good memories of facing Forest as he scored a spectacular winner at the City Ground last season.
