Forest hope to get back to winning ways on Saturday as Walsall visit the City Ground. Walsall over the years have become a bit of a bogey side for Forest with the West Midlanders managing to go 10 games against Forest without defeat. Ironically before this run started Forest used to have the upper hand in these fixtures by winning 7 out of the 9 games played.
Walsall are managed by the highly rated Richard Money who helped guide the club to the League 2 championship last season in his first season in charge. Added to how well they have performed this season his name has been mentioned at a number of vacancies at Championship level this season. Money will be no stranger at the City Ground having been a coach at the club during Frank Clark’s reign in charge.
Walsall had a horrendous start to the season by not winning until their eighth game but since that point they have impressed everyone with how well they have performed including a run of 17 games without defeat currently lying only one place below Forest in 5th place. However they have lost their last two games to fellow promotion hopefuls Northampton Town and Brighton and with a visit to Leeds the next game it could prove a crucial period of the season for Walsall.
Walsall have enjoyed being on their travels this season boasting the third best away record in the division gaining 30 out of their 55 points away from Bescot Stadium.
Fans were unhappy at deadline day as the club sold two of their players (Daniel Fox and Scott Dann) to Coventry City however these fears were eased with the loan signings of Lee Holmes from Derby and Kevin Betsy from Bristol City. Also in the last few weeks Stefan Moore formerly of Aston Villa and QPR has joined the club after impressing during a trial.
