Nottingham Forest are set to reveal a double signing to add to the free transfer capture of Dele Adebola.

Preston North End midfielder Paul McKenna and Tottenham defender Chris Gunter both held talks with Billy Davies at the City Ground on Friday.

McKenna, 31, will join on a permanent basis and it is expected Gunter will agree to a season-long loan following his successful loan spell at the end of last season.

Davies has upped his offer for McKenna after an initial bid was turned down and it is believed the player requested permission to hold talks with his former manager to secure a final move after spending 13 years at Preston.

Wales international Gunter has made no secret to the fact he wants to come back to the City Ground on loan to further his experience in the game and get regular first team football.
