What do we offer?

Welcome to the Nomad Kayak Club.

 

This page contains the information you need to join the Nomads.

 

Summer Sessions

We meet at our Club House at Rickmansworth Aquadrome on

Wednesday evenings from  6pm and Sunday mornings from 10.30am for general & coaching sessions, May to September.

Special events such as Marathon races & come and try polo sessions

Will run on selected Sunday evenings.

 

 

 

Winter Sessions

We meet at the lake on Sunday mornings from 10.00am to 12am

from October to April

 

Winter Pool Sessions

We are currently unable to offer winter pool sessions.

We hope to restart pool sessions in 2010 at William Penn pool in Rickmansworth

William Penn pool is under construction and we will post details of pool sessions

The Lake

At the lake we offer coaching, British Canoe Union Star Tests up to three star, Canoe Polo on our out door polo pitch, General paddling sessions on lake & canal & BBQ’s on Wednesday evenings subject to weather.

Lake sessions are free to members.

 

Kit

We supply Boats, Paddles, Helmets, Buoyancy Aids, & Spray decks at the lake and for trips to the Fisheries at Harefield.

Kit hire is charged per day for other trips away from the lake.

 

Trips & Polo

We run trips on flat water & up to grade four rivers

We run surfing trips to the coast

We run play boating trips to the Thames Weirs

We attend many Polo matches.

We can assist you with BCU four & five star as well as coaching awards.

 

Membership

To become a member, join us ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH AT 10.00am at the Aquadrome for a come & try new members session.

 

If you already paddle these sessions will give you a chance to see if the club offers you what you want from paddle sport, If you are a total beginner you will have plenty of time & coaching to see if you want to continue.

to confirm the sessions you would like to attend

 

2. Attend the session.

Please bring with you THE NON MEMBER ACTIVITY CONSENT FORM

Old training shoes or water sport shoes if you have them, clothing that will get wet, towel & change of clothes, a water proof jacket / cag to keep the wind out and “a wet suit if you have one”.

 

WARM CLOTHING FOR WINTER SESSIONS

 

You will need the None Member Activity consent Form filled in & signed. 

If you are under 18 your parent or guardian must also sign the form.

Minimum age is 10 years.

 

Please turn up for the sessions as all our coaches are volunteers and are giving up their time to run these sessions.

 

3. After the free sessions, if you would like to join the Nomads fill in the membership form & send it with your payment to our membership secretary at the address on the form.

 

PLEASE NOTE.
Junior Members between the age of 10 and 12 MUST have a parent or guardian on site at the Aquadrome during all club sessions,
Junior members over 12 years can paddle without a parent or guardian being in attendance.
