[NBC] Rankings - based on battlefield results.

Every game that is reported in the “All winning lobby games” forum topic will count towards an NBC ranking.

Like all things in NBC it is intended to be a little bit serious, and a big bit fun.

There are two Divisions : Gold and Silver.

Each Division contains five steps, 1,2, 3, 4 and 5.

Movements up or down the steps and Divisions will only be made when members win games against players in the Gold Division :

If your on the winning team you will move up one step in the table if there is any player on the losing side that is ranked anywhere in the GOLD Division.

Any Gold ranked player that is on the losing side will go down one step.

Bonus awards : Very sorry all, this has proven to be a step too far and I'm having real problem keeping track of this so the bonus will be dropped as of now.

To advance up the table players will need to win against Gold ranked players, winning games against Silver ranked players will not gain a move up the table.

For Gold ranked players the only way to advance to the top Gold step will be to play and win against other Gold ranked players. They will drop down the table by losing to any player…..so the pressure is on for the Gold ranked players to win against other Gold ranked players in order to go up, or stay in the Gold Division.

Members in the Silver Division can only go up by playing and winning against the better NBC players in the Gold Division. A Silver Division member that never wins against a Gold ranked player will never move up the table.

Silver Division members will not go down a step if they lose a game, they go up (if winning against Gold Division players) until they reach the Gold Division themselves, then they may be pushed back down into Silver Division (step one) if losing.

Over time most players will work their way up to the top of the Silver Division. They will go into and out of the Gold Division depending on the battlefield results. The challenge is to gain entry into the Gold Division - and then be able to stay there and not go back down to Silver step 1.

New members will normally start somewhere in the bottom half of the Silver Division unless they are a well known “better than average” player, then they may start in the top half of the Silver Division, or even in the Gold Division, should they warrant that starting position..

The starting positions are based on my opinion judged from battlefield results since NBC was formed. Please don’t worry if you think you are in the wrong section to start off, these places will change often and members will soon move up or down depending on battle results.

When all said and done this is only for fun - and not to be taken to seriously.

It is up to the winner to post the result, no post means no change in the rankings for anyone in that game. The loser does not have to post any result, only the winners have to post battle results - just like they do at the moment.

Advantages of this system compared to a “tournament” type game structure.

1. There are no arrangements to be made in advance - all lobby games count as long as they get reported in the forum.

2. There is no administration for the players to do.

3. To stay at the top is designed to be difficult and should display the best players.

4. For those members not interested, it will make no difference, they play their normal lobby games as and when they want.

5. For those members that are interested, it adds a little something to the game results, and gives a bit of a challenge - if they want it.

Players that do not post any results for an extended period of time, will slowly drop down the table, one step at a time, until they become active and start winning games.

A 3v3 game with g24, Frog (G) and Dougie (G) v Ciprian,(S) Air (S) and a KO player.

If g24, Frog & Dougie win then there will be no change to anyone’s rankings as Frog and Dougie have not won against a Gold ranked player.

If Ciprian, Air and the KO player win then Ciprian and Air will move up one step with Frog and Dougie going down one, because the winners have beaten a Gold ranked player.
