Dear MTGA Members,

I have stepped down from the MTGA Board to persue an opportunity with the MDElite League.  I've been involved with the MDElite for over 20 years and now have the opportunity to expand the league into a Golf league.  The MDElite has been structured to minimize schedule conflicts between the MTGA League and the MDElite league so that members can participate in both leagues. 

Since the MDElite League is a PGA Tour/FedEx Cup format, all MTGA Tournaments qualify as Mini Tournaments for the MDElite Tour 2013 and Tour Points are awarded.  The member just has to send in thier scores to be recorded for the Mini Tournament. Hello Everyone:

We would like to congratulate our 2012 MTGA Season Winners!

The season long competitions came down to this final outing with players neck and neck until the final hole. Several ties had to be broken by determining the number of outings attended.  The changes made to the Duffer's Competition and adding the President's Challenge, Birdie Page, and Ambassador Awards, truely reflected the competitive nature of the league as well as the dedication by all the members to make this season successful.

We look forward to the 2013 Season and wish you and your familiy Happy Holidays and a safe and healthy New Year!

The 2012 MTGA Wall of Fame

Ambassador's award:  This is a new activity that rewards members for bringing in guests and recruiting new members.  We want to encourage the entire organization to grow the success of the MTGA and this will showcase members who promote our league. A sleeve of golf balls for 1^st time guest at a tournament. Free tournament fee for any member who recruits a new member for 2012. Promotional materials, awards and member recognition will be based on signing up and bringing guests to tournaments.

Presidents Challenge: This is a new activity based on the PGA’s Kodak Challenge.  It is a season long activity and accumulates individual’s scores from each tournament played. Throughout the season a player’s score card will be established based on randomly selected holes from each tournament event.  These will be drawn from a hat after the completion of the tournament.

Duffers Points: This is the MTGA’s primary competition that accumulates points for each member from each event scheduled for the 2012 season.  Competition will be setup in three flights (A, B, C) and each member will be assigned to a flight for each individual tournament.  The flights will be based on the caliber of players playing in a particular tournament and adjusted for the course rating and individual’s handicap. Members will accumulate points for the entire season and the winners will be established at the end of the season.
