EdP-Energias de Portugal commit 68% investment to renewable power

EdP-Energias de Portugal announced that 68% of their investment by 2010 will be in renewable power. Although the investment will not affect the UK it is a positive step forward that such a large company is willing to publicly make a commitment of this type.

You can read the full article at cnnmoney.com and if you are looking for renewable power provider in the UK you can find one here

Enjoy!

Use online methods to switch energy providers
I read an online article that tells you how to save money by switching energy providers by using energy providers websites and comparitive energy sites.
It also covers the false economy of switching energy providers for a lesser package to save a small amount of money over the year.

Local people and activist slow progress
In recent weeks the UK has started to hit road blocks in its renewable energy goals due to local communities and rogue activist groups.

Earlier this month, the ASA1 condemned RUNGA, an anti-wind group, for releasing material to the public that was in accurate and designed to mislead the public on the issues surrounding wind power. Earlier this week the BBC2 announced that the Scottish Executive has plans to block the Lewis wind farm project; folding to public pressure. The constant blocking of wind farm proposals in the UK may start to become problematic to the green energy movement and hamper the lowering of the green house emissions.

ASA

BBC News

green energy supplier
