Motherhood is the most natural of jobs, and truly the oldest profession around.  So why is it that after thousands of years, we are still looking for that perfect way to complete the task?  Could it be the fact that our "work environment" is constantly changing?  Could it perhaps be that our hours have run way too late, and we haven't gotten a pay raise in oh....forever?  What happened to those vacation days, the sick leave....the dare we ask...personal day?  Our Co-workers have equally odd hours, we never know when we are going to get a hand with a current project, and our bosses can be unruly, over-tired, hungry, wet, crabby, cranky unreasonable messes.  Yet day after day, here we are...in Mommyville.

We show up for our shift, sometimes in the middle of the night un-showered and un-rested.  We do this without question, without fail.  We are the brave that battle the monster in the closet, the strong that fight off the snot and yuckies, the reliable that always remember to do the voices just right for the bedtime story, and the devoted, always there to kiss every bump, hug every bruised little soul, and brush the tears away. 

We do not ask for days off because the love that we get (and get to give) is more payment than we could ever ask for.  However, as long as those kids are a nappin'....might as well escape to Mommyville!  This is a resting place for those moms (and other care givers) to sit back and enjoy helpful and useful information, personal interests, fun, humor, and anything else we can think of.
