On March 19, 2011 Karen Byrd Gibson was crowned Mrs. Greater Butler County Queen of Queens 2011. Her community service and record number of public appearances earned Karen this title.
She also holds the title of Elite Woman National Queen 2011. She was crowned in November 2010 in Roswell, Georgia. A native of Oxford, Ohio she also won preliminaries in Community Service for her work with her platform Habitat for Humanity and Scrapbook which exhibited the philanthropic activities that she has participated in. The goals of the Royal Elite Beauty National Pageant are to promote the woman of today and show that there is a wide variety of women in the United States who have the class and skills to be number one.
In 1995, she was the recipient of the first Habitat Home in the city of Oxford and is a board member of the Tri State Habitat for Humanity in West Chester, Ohio. Karen has attended the National Habitat Convention in Lafayette, Indiana and performed the song she composed entitled “Making Ones Dreams Come True.” During her year of service Karen will advocate and promote affordable housing. Karen has also held dual titles of Royal Elite Woman, Ohio 2010 and Mrs. Greater Butler County 2010.
Karen also volunteers with organizations such as the Oxford Chamber of Commerce, Cincinnati Reds, Relay for Life and the Kroger Corporation. Karen has worked with youth organizations across the tri-state conducting workshops on self-esteem, image and wardrobe consulting. Recently, Karen was honored by performing the National Anthem at the 9/11 Memorial Service sponsored by the City of Hamilton and Miami River Days Festival. Gibson is also performs with community choirs such as Brothers and Sisters in Christ and Voice of Praise. She lives by the motto “Don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today.”
She is employed by Phi Delta Theta Headquarters and is a graduate of Middletown Business College, Notre Dame Business School and the John Casablanca Modeling School. Karen is the mother of five children, eight grandchildren and is married to Rodney Gibson Sr.
