I grew up in Middletown, Delaware with my parents Richard and AnaMarie Covel, my older brother Ricky, and my two beagle-bassets (Rhett and Larkin).  I started taking dance lessons when I was five, and there was no turning back.  I graduated from Red Lion Christian Academy with high honors where I was involved with cheerleading, math league, student government, science Olympiad, music ensembles, and theatre (there wasn’t much sleeping in those days).  I am currently a junior at Cedarville University studying Finance.  My goal is to become a certified financial planner until I can open and support my own dance studio.

For over the past year I have used the crown as a microphone to encourage students to follow their dreams, and I plan to take an even more active role this year.  My brother dropped out of high school at 16.  He frequently tells me that this was the biggest mistake of his life.  I want to instill the value of education to students, along with practical skills to help them succeed no matter where life may lead them.

I am so honored to be your Miss Greater Butler County 2011, and I pray that I would never take any opportunity for granted.    This is my fourth year competing with the Miss America Organization, and I cannot wait for all of the amazing experiences that I know are waiting for me.
