Today was the first day of school for my two sons.... and boy is it quiet around here. We had such a fantastic summer ..traveling to Mexico and Scuba diving was certainly our highlight.. Long days at the pool are now a thing of the past.... well until next summer! I am looking forward to some cooler weather. My yard needs some attention before the weeds take over!
Here is a picture of summertime memories.... The Carribean Ocean Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh~
I am not a blogger.. I guess I just need to face it! I simply don't have enough time to blog. Maybe that is what I should write.. No time today.....
No time today... LOL! Seriously though.. I just returned from a fantastic weekend getaway to Las Vegas. Not your typical LV trip though. My husband, two teenage boys and myself hopped in the car and drove to the big city of lights! We had a fantastic weekend. We checked out Hoover dam, a magic show, Fremont street, several pools, Circus Circus and the Excaliber, and of course all of the lights and attractions on the strip. We must have walked 20 miles! I LOVE to gamble.. so spending $20.00 in about 20 minutes and not returning to the casino all weekend was very strange for me!
So I really do need to catch up. I haven't even lit my torch for a entire week.. YIKES!
So why am I blogging? I can't stand to look at the last old date!
Every year on April 15th I hear several stories of stressed out friends and family... Why do these same people procrastinate every year until April 15th? I understand those who have to pay...waiting until the 15th to send that big check in.....but what about the others? I have had my refund for almost 2 months now. It waits as I find the perfect vacation spot... it also sits as my husband and I ponder whether ot not we should update our outdated kitchen with some of the money. So I guess in all reality I am no different... those who wait to get their refunds and those who wait to spend it!
Well... the good news is, we decided! In June we will all be taking Scuba Diving Classes and then heading to Cozumel in July and Hawaii in September... I doubt there will be much left to update the kitchen.. Oh well, I spend far more time in my studio anyways, and I am on a diet so why would I want my kitchen to be the room I spend a lot of time in!!! LOL! Hopefully, I will run into a Sea Turtle before 2009!
I spent my bead making time today putting together four salad serving sets from beads I have made on and off the last week. I am glad I can be diversified in my bead making.. Each set was quite different.. from florals to southwest.. I snapped a pic of one of them.. Of course the other three are prettier..Go figure! I know most beadmakers cringe at the idea of custom orders.. I guess I have been unusally lucky.. No complaints yet!
My passion for art has been with me since I was a little girl. I have dabbled with photography, painting, drawing and I have a degree from the Art Institute of Colorado. I had never quite found my "niche" in the art world until I began my journey into the flame. Since that time I spend every bit of free time working with glass and trying to improve my skills.
My beads are all lovingly created in my sunny studio in beautiful Colorado. Originality and quality are my main goals. All of my beads are properly kiln annealed and meticulously cleaned with a dremel diamond reamer. Most of my beads are made on 1/16th mandrels and are made from imported Italian or German glass as well as American Boutique glass. All of my work is unconditionally guaranteed. My customers should be as happy with my beads as I am. I welcome custom orders and will do my best to fulfill them. If you have seen my work and would like a similar set, please note that these are original one of a kind pieces and though I can try to duplicate them, they will never be exact.
I am a proud member and co-founder of LEST "Lampwork Etc. Street Team" We are a group of lampwork artists who all take great pride in our work. As Self Representing Artists.. you can be assured we will only sell our top quality work and stand behind our beads! If you don't see something here you like.. be sure to search etsy using LEST.. you will find amazing glass artists!
Music:
I am LOVING Panic! at the Disco right now... Although I have a very broad music liking. I mostly prefer alternative rock, although I occasionally like to listen to Country.. only new country..like Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney, NOT that whiny stuff from ages ago. I really like "beach music"...Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffet, a girly drink and a beach is my idea of a good day!
