Inducing labor, while fairly common, isn't what you would call a natural event. Inducing labor when the cervix is ready is usually not a problem, but when
the cervix is unripe, many more complications are possible. While conventional medical wisdom would be to use the common drugs used for inducing labor to get on with things, many women are looking into safer, more natural alternatives such as maternity acupressure for inducing labor. This type of approach does several things: it relieves stress in the expecting mother, as well as increasing the possiblity of having a much more pain-free delivery.
If it is getting late in the day as far as as far as the delivery date is concerned, or indeed if it has passed,
maternity acupressure would be something well worth considering. After carrying this baby for nine months, many women look forward to making the baby's entry into this world as easy as possible, and
if an induction is being considered, this should be looked into as an option.
