Consultation
The steering group have met again to plan this year's consultation. We are pleased that Bishop Michael Hooper has agreed to be our keynote speaker. Bishop Michael is currently Bishop of Ludlow (he is due to retire at the end of June) and has been involved in collaborative ministry for many years. The Consultation title is: “Let’s Collaborate! A theological and practical exploration of Local Ministry.”Alongside the keynote speaker the consultation will include group work on collaborative ministry issues: team building, decision making and oversight, and a session on the collaborative possibilities of new media. There will also be a collaborative exercise to come up with a logo for the Local Ministry Network. If you have research to share please let Christine Crompton (cm.crompton@tiscali.co.uk ) know so it can be included in the programme.
We will reinstate the Market Place this year, and contributions from Regional Training Partnerships are particularly invited.
Booking information will be sent out by Paul Cox at the beginning of May. (You can download the booking form from The Consultation, on this site). Please book by the beginning of July. The cost will be £160 per person if paid before 1st September, £170 after then. (The dates of the consultation are 16th – 18th November at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hertfordshire.) We have only 50 places booked at High Leigh so make your booking a priority.
Website
The steering group are setting up an interactive website for members of the network. This will use the “Webjam” provider, which allows users to access and edit pages. This will enable members to share stories, ideas and information widely and quickly throughout the year. The site will be available from 1st April at www.webjam.com/localministry . You will be able to find information about the plans for the Consultation there as they reach their final form, copies of this newsletter and links to other interesting material. You will also be able to add material that you think is helpful or interesting to other members of the Network and contribute to discussions and material other people have posted.
We are using it as a free service so the site does carry advertisements at the moment.
