For long time I believed that Chiron ruled Sagittarius.  Chiron and Sagittarius both have to do with outdoors, wilderness, and wild animaux, or, as more careless speakers might say, animals.

Today I did a horary chart, "Should I gather and sell wild plants?"  Here is an image, of the chart:

Libra is the rising sign.  I have, for a long time, known that Libra rules any interest in plants, such as horticulture, orchardry, vintnery, and herbalism.  However, it was always a mystery to me which of Libra's planets is the ruler of interest-in-plants:  surely not Venus, not Cupido, and not the Jaynean planet Jason, nor the "Baldr / Ganesh / Jesus Christ" planet, which Jayne called "Morya", but I do not care to call it that, rather "Baldr", "Ganesh" or "Jesus Christ".

Many folks have claimed, and argued, that Chiron rules Libra.  I resisted, for the reasons given above.  In this chart, Moon's next aspect will be to square Chiron at 2:24 post meridian, thus causin my thoughts to turn to plants.  Now I am convinced that Chiron rules plants, and also Chiron rules Libra.

To verify, I checked the chart of Luther Burbank, the most famous plant-specialist of all time.  Chiron should be prominent in his birth's chart.  Check it out:

When I think about astrology online, of cours my favorite place is my own astrology website, LEARN ASTROLOGY.  My specialty is to give, to you, the explanations, and the techniques, that you cannot find elsewhere.

Now, there is a concept, called a "cookbook".  That is where you find the interpretation of the "elements" of each chart.  Examples would be a description of the rising sign, and the planets in the signs and houses.

I have not posted so much "cookbook" lore on my site.  Whenever I want it, I just do a searchin, and usually find that, whereafter I seek, in some of the top results.  Even writers, that I used to despise 20 years ago, have gotten so much better, in their online "cookbook" writins.

One main caution:  never believe anythin negative, that you read in astrology.  That is one of my teachins, that I have never seen any other astrologer tellin, to you.  It is all preventable, and it all "depends", and ONLY AN EXPERIENCED ASTROLOGER CAN USE A "COOKBOOK" without makin a mistakin.

I have been noticin lately, that my activities have been bringin me together, with folks, with whom I do not fit.  I asked the question, "Where should I spend my time?", meanin some place in the town, wherein I abide.

Before I look at a horary chart, I think, what am I lookin for?  What house or planet will give, to me, the answer.  In this case, Ivy's rules (Ivy Jacobsen-Goldstein wrote the bible of horary astrology) deal with relocation, "Where would I be better off".  Basically the same question.  Her rules state, that you pick the purpose, what you want to gain, by the relocation.  For instance, do you want love, money, health, or what?

My intuition told, to me, a wholistic answer:  wherever my rulin planet would be exalted, that is the best place, for me to spend my time.  In this chart, the ascendant was within about 1/4 degree of the ascendant of my initiation's chart (which I, per God's instruction, use in lieu of my birth's chart).  The ascendant was the sign of Cancer.

Pay attention, to what I am tellin, to you, and you will be a good astrologer.

At first I wanted to use Wotan, the Hamburg School planet (that they erroneously named "Kronos") as the ruler.  But I felt doubt, so I asked God, and he said to use Moon.  Generally you get best results in Horary, either by usin the "7 karmic" or the "big 10" planets, without addin any asteroids, new planets, centaurs, nor hypothetical planets.  But dark moon Lilith must always be included in every chart.

Moon is exalted in Taurus.  Taurus occupied the 11th cusp, so I began to think, join a club, make friends.  I don't have any friends or associates, who are satisfactory, only those I want to get away from.  Reasons I'll not concern you with here.

So, friends, clubs.  Next I wanted to narrow down my search, by findin a distance and a direction.  I could use either the 11th cusp, or Venus, its lo'ward.  11th cusp would put me miles away from town, and that is not whereafter I sought.

The way you do it, take the degree of Moon, and the degree of planet or cusp, and subtract.  If the planet or cusp has no latitude (all houses' cusps are without latitude, so is the Sun), then, if angular, the distance is half a mile for each degree different between it and the Moon.

If succeedent, then a mile, if cadent then 2 miles.

If the cusp or planet has north latitude, then angular 1 mile, succeedent 2 miles, and cadent 3 miles times the degrees difference from the Moon.

If the cusp or planet has south latitude, then angular 2 miles, succeedent 3 miles, and cadent a lon distance, times the degrees difference from Moon.

Venus, lord of 11th, was in the 4th house.  That is my home, the 4th house.  I should spend my time at home.  Ivy said, that any planet angular, in an air sign, means nearby.  Venus was in Libra.  Had it been in another sign, then my best place would have been distant from town.  But because Venus was angular, and in an air sign, either a nearby farm, or my own home, would be best places for me to abide.

What about the 11th house, friends, clubs?  The lo'ward of the 11th in the 4th , they should come to my place, not I to theirs.
