All the children come together during some assemblies, at breaktime and lunchtime, and it is lovely to see all ages playing together and supporting each other in a really caring atmosphere.
The younger children are looked after and taught playground games by the older children, some of whom take on the role of “Playground Co-ordinators”, and the older children learn to become responsible for those around them.
Each of our classes has a teacher, sometimes two, and at least one teaching assistant to support the children in their learning.

We cover 3 exciting creative curriculum topics over the school year but these will be kept top secret so as not to spoil the surprise for the children! Our first topic this year is World War 2 and we have just been evacuated for the day – it felt very real. We will have many visitors to the class and visits to different places to link to our topics, as in previous years, such as: Sue Potter, from Tunbridge Wells Museum who will showed us some real Victorian artefacts and Anni Watson - an artist, a nurse, a policeman and a Judo instructor. We are also looking forward to meeting our French pen-friends during our visit to Marchiennes in October. Throughout the year there will be many opportunities to take part in a huge variety of sports events against other local schools. |

Class Teachers: Mrs Smith and Mrs Langton The class consists of 32 lively pupils aged between 10 and 11. The class is very social and thrives on interaction between its members and guests who come into the class. |

In the Autumn Term 2009 our topic was ‘We’ll Meet Again’ when we learnt all about World War 2, including a trip by steam train when we dressed up as evacuees and did not know where we would end up! Luckily we returned home later that day! In Spring 2010 our topic is called ‘Up, up and away’, including everything to do with flight – from hot air balloons to jet planes via Icarus and Daedalus. |
