You hopefully will all have received the Christmas Card templates by now - extra ones are available from the teachers! They must be returned to the class teachers by TUESDAY 2 NOVEMBER. The samples will return 7-10 days later together with order forms - prices start from £5 for 12, with additional packs at £4 each. What a bargain! And you'll be helping the school at the same time.
Fantastic quiz night last night!! Well done Anton & the pta as you must have put so much time and effort into it! It was great fun and the questions were brilliant in that they got everyone involved - I still can't believe we got the monopoly one wrong - had to check the board when we got home!. I hope the night has raised lots of money for the school and can't wait for the next one :-)
Sunday 18th September - We're raising money for charity and the school by competing in the Dragon Boat Race at Bewl Water. If you would like to come along and cheer for the school, that would be great, but more than anything we need sponsorship - forms are in reception. Please help us if you can.
Friday 30th September - It's Quiz Night in the school hall from 7.30pm. We always have a great evening and it's a chance for any new parents to dive straight in and be part of the social action! There's a bar and a nice selection of nibbles too, so please fill in the forms that will be in the book bags tonight and pop them in the box in reception.
If you are taking part in the Fun Run this Sunday, please download and carefully read the Race Pace from the Fun Run section of the school website. Happy Training!
So we can get an idea of numbers, could you possibly return your Fun Run entry forms before we break up for Easter. Thank you.
Here are some dates to take note of: Fireworks Show with the theme "Out of this World" on Saturday 14th November and Christmas Quiz Night on Friday 11th December.
It was a long time ago when, in the balmy heat of the Summer fete, parents crowded to take the names of Ghanaian children that they wanted to buy a gift for this Christmas, but the time is upon us to harvest in the gifts. Christmas presents for Ghanaian children need to be in next week, at the absolute latest, as Isaac will be here to pick them up?
Gifts need to be small and light and batteryless! If anyone needs a further reminder of their child's age and hobbies then they can ask at school.
Thank you very much.
Please note that we have postponed the Courier photographer who was due in school on Thursday, 1st October because the children will not be in their school uniform - an 'own clothes day' - fundraising for Jeans for Genes!!
The school Fireworks Show will be held on Saturday 14th November.

YEAR 1 - DATES FOR THE DIARY
Hi to all Year 1 mums and dads – welcome back. I hope you are all suitably refreshed and rested after the school holidays (?!)
After Becky did such a great job as parent rep last year (thank you), I thought she deserved a break so I shall try my best to be as good but it’s a tough act to follow! Anyway, the most important part is getting a few dates together so please try and come along to as many of the following as you can:
Thursday October 1st Coffee at my house from 9.30 am
Friday October 9th – Dad’s night at the Hare, from 8 pm
Monday October 12th - Coffee at Eleanor’s from 9.30 am
Friday October 23rd – Mum’s night at the Hare from 8 pm
Friday November 6TH (REVISED DATE) – Coffee at Jane’s from 9.30 am
If anyone else would like to hold a coffee morning in November, please let me know. I will also be arranging a Christmas get together in early December, date and venue to be confirmed. Any ideas gratefully received.
After a sad farewell to Culzean and Niamh at the end of last year, it’s really great to have Katie and mum Tina with us now, hope to see you at the next coffee morning.
If anyone would like an up to date copy of the contact list or if I can be of any help please do let me know.
See you at the school gates.
Emma J
A couple of notes for your diary - the school's photographer is scheduled to be in on Friday 9th October to take individual photographs. The a photographer from the Kent and Sussex Courier has an appointment to take a photograph of the reception class on Thursday 1st October.
Dear Parents. I do hope you will all become members of this site. It's a really useful way of getting information out and sharing more of what is going on in the School. The recent photo's from the Y5 and 6 trip are about to go onto the gallery and our brand new prospectus will be available here very soon.
Just to confirm that the new school year starts on Monday 7th September.
Just a reminder that every Friday throughout the Summer holidays, year R (year 1 in Sept) will be getting together for a picnic and play at the recreation ground play area from 12 noon. Everyone welcome to come along to catch up and keep in touch over the holiday time...........
Sports Day images are already rolling in and can be viewed by members in the Gallery
