The Apple Mac

You may be thinking why is she going to tell us about a laptop, well people however sad it may be, a lot of my time has been spent on it. I've made comic strips, addded photo effects and editied videos. One of these videos was filmed and edited entirely on the Mac. Honestly, Miriam and I are slightly sane and hold onto that if you watch this video! I think it does portray how much I love my sister and how comfortable we are to be in each others company!

Arrival of a legend!

I want this section to be almost a tribute to Ben because even though our youthgroup spent 99% of their time laughing at his northerner accent, his various hair colour changes and the state of his living space he was and is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met. At first I thought he had no idea how a teenage girl's mind worked and I was right, he has no clue. He did how ever help me learn a lot about dealing with difficult situations and what a relationship with God was as before I didn't really know how to make the leap from being brought up in a Christian environment to having a faith of my own. So thank you Ben!

Walking in Wales

The walking week was yet again a huge hit, with the same old formula. Long walks, kids moaning, racing for the best showers, teenagers causing mayhem, adults getting a bit tipsy over games of Empire and Mafia. My best memory was getting back from a walk where my best friend and I had gone swimming in the sea half way through the walk (it was the middle of February!) and then running back to get the best shower, getting into pj's and then having a chocolate fondue to share in a hot pink fondue machine!!!

Spain athletics

This was the highlight of the entire year! I didn't want to come home at the end (sorry Miriam!) The 2 weeks I was out there consisted of training twice a day whether that be circuits in the sun, sweating on the track or keeping slightly cooler in the gym. The team spirit in my athletics training group was amazing. We had time to play by the pool, go to the beach and go shopping. I probably should mention that there was only one guy in the training group who came and we did not hesitate to show him he was going to be an honoury girl, we had girly chats, make up time and chats about guys much to his amusement! The amount of training was proboaly countered by the heap of ice cream we ate and the £15 bag of pic n mix in under an hour!

Exams

Revised 'em, took 'em, passed 'em, PLEASED!

New Wine

This week was such a pivotal point in my life. I met some amazing people who were larger then life and learnt a lot about myself. This week was not stress free by any stretch of the imagination. I was looking after 0-3 year olds, if you didn't have the gift of patience you did by the end of the week! My friend who I was sharing a tent with went down with meningitus for the 3rd time. I had no idea what to do especially when no one would wake up to help, whilst at the same time our tent kept falling down and was flooded at the end! It was definitely stressful but I had the wise mind and caravan of Tish! That may sound like a nightmare but I've already got my place for next year!

Greenbelt

I have been to this festival for 16 years now and this one was the best yet by far. We managed to fit in so much and met some hilarious people! We danced to Athlete, The apples and many more! We walked round pegging people (trying to attach pegs to somebody- better the position or more important the person e.g. a steward the more credit you got!!) So many happy memories even though it did rain!

Muse weekend

"This song is dedicated to the people on the balcony!" says Matt Bellamy. "That's us!!!" we all scream!  Standing on the balcony of the Teignmouth flat, raving it up up to a great band with a bunch of great mates, shouting oggi oggi oggi and hearing oi oi oi from the crowds streaming out of the concert venue. It doesn't get much better then that now does it!

Brecons

The Griffiths side of the family in some ways have very similar charcter traits, but bring us together and you see the individual uniqueness of every personality and we thrive off eachother and consequently we have a ball! The holiday was speciaI because of these personalities, I cannot possibly go through every single person but here was a few of the highs. We did a talent night and one act was a poem 'The King asked the Queen'. Miriam's cockney maid and my Grandpa's cow impression were maybe a litte too good! The adults getting VERY competitive over table tennis tournaments! Trying to play password with my Dad who is falling asleep AGAIN!!!! Introducing Cara to the madness of our family and her dealing with it very well! Colin and Bronwen's wedding seating plan, I never knew the politics of it and we yet again were reminded of Bronwen's strong opinions and not to mess with them! Gen's part in the password game reminding us of the fabulous tipsy cheater she really is. The cousins generally being amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better family or week. Weel except I would have really liked to have signal!

Bron wedding

I have been waiting for so long for my aunt and now my official unlce to tie the knot. I'm soooooo happy for them! I was trusted with THE ring and I don't think I will ever forget my cousin's dancing, he owned the dance floor! Again it reminded me of how important my family were because they really are all quite odd and spectacular with it!

Talent Show

I still don't completely understand how I managed to organise it all and was very proud with the money we raised which reached a sum of £283.83. All the money went to my friend's charity which uses music therapy to help traumatised people in Uganda. It was a great night and I'm plaesed to say there was a LOT of talent!

Hope I haven't gone on too long! Love Aby xxxxx
