Your hips' primary purpose is to bear the weight of your upper body and to act as a means of movement.  Because of the stress your hips bear every day, and even at night, the chance for injury is very high.  Your hip pains can be caused by stress, Lyme disease, infection, collagen vascular disease, osteoarthritis, or trauma.

In adults, the main cause of hip pains is degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis.  Children are also susceptible to pains in the joint.  Their hip pains may be caused by acute septic arthritis, systemic disease, or trauma.

If you have hip pains, it is best to call your doctor to get a correct diagnosis in order to treat the hip pains effectively.
