GOOD NEWS FOR CARP ANGLERS YOU CAN ALL FISH WITH THREE RODS.
The three rod rule was discussed at the last committee meeting on the10th February 2009 and after a lengthy discussion it was passed by the committee and comes into effect this year so anglers could fish with three rods providing you have two environment agencies rod licence's for the coming season.
You must fill in your membership forms for 2009/2010 and give your two agency rod licences No’s so that they can be processed with your membership form each year. The thinking behind this is so you will be given a different colour membership card which will make it easy for the bailiffs to check when they see an angler fishing with three rods.
Environment Agencies Rod Licences start from the 1st April 2009 for the coming season so there is no excuse.
I have campaigned hard for this change to the rules so please don’t let me or yourselves down fish with three rods by all means but please fish with angling etiquette and think of other anglers who are fishing next and opposite you.
Many thanks Dave Hutton.
28th April 2009........The Club had two ton of wood chippings delivered to Merston for the rest of the Bivie swims round Heron lake to be redressed and a special thanks for Rob Cassford, Tony O’Neil, Derek Holmes, and Bill Ingleby for your help it was hard work but well worth the satisfaction to see the results of our labour’s we were sorry to have to close half of the Lake for the day but the work had to be carried out and Tuesday was the only time we could all devote our time and midweek did not cause to much interference to the other anglers.
Heron Lake is looking good at the moment with all the new shoots growing on the trees and the bird life returning to use the box’s round the lake, a lot of hard work time and trouble has gone on round the lake since Christmas with clearing the rubbish trimming the bushes and trees round the island.
Would all anglers take care and take your rubbish home with you (there is a small minority who still leave rubbish …..I wonder what the homes look like inside).
Sermon over ……I hope you all enjoy the Lake.
Best Wishes, David
