George Moses - Marketeer

I spoke with George Moses today - July 8, 2008. He is excited about the ride and already has it on his calendar (to ride). He said that he would like to help in any way possible, including getting on a committee. Jeanne, can you find a spot for him? He also said that he would give us plenty of free publicity in the Marketeer. He will also look at our sponsorship package with an eye toward becoming a sponsor. I will drop off a hard copy to him today.

Update, August 29, 2008: George has created a full page ad and is running it in the September (page 79) and October Marketeer. See file of ad above.

06/30/2008 Sponsorship Mtg. Follow-Up

Hello, All -

Thanks for taking time out to meet today about sponsorships for the Tour de Livingston.  This is going to be a great event!  We have really tremendous people involved and engaged.

Very quick follow up on a couple of things:

  • The above listing should be everyone on the committee.  If I'm missing anyone, please let me know so we get them included.  All that is now necessary is to hit "Reply All" and we'll all be in the loop.
  • I'll work with our intern, Megan, when she gets back next week about updating notes on the website Jim Gilligan has developed.  I agree that it's a great tool for this event.
  • Maybe great news - had a very, very quick parking-lot conversation with Becky Best at Citizens who has expressed interest in the major sponsorship.  I told her we'd need to know if they have interest this week or next.  She's going to discuss with the President, as well as the marketing department out east.  Her initial response was that there was a great opportunity for naming rights right from the beginning, something they could take ownership of.  I shared that we would call it the Howell Rotary Tour de Livingston, presented by Citizens Insurance Co.  Again, this conversation was pretty preliminary.  Will follow up with an e-mail to Becky re: Citizens interest and then get back with everyone as soon as I hear back from them.  I'm not going to make additional calls to the others on my list until I hear back from Citizens.  Don't want to lose this opportunity -

Will keep in touch - again thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm, creativity and energy!

From Jeff Hansen:

I found this list of companies that do custom and semi-custom sublimated cycling jerseys…

From Trevor Brooks:

Hello All,

I spoke to Art Coloma at J J Jinklehiemer about actual cycling jerseys. As we discussed the cost is too great to include in the registration for everyone but I was thinking maybe as a possible upgrade for those that wanted them. Would be a way for us to make a few more bucks.

Hi Trevor,

Here is a link to one of our suppliers of cycling shirts.  There are 2 pages of these custom shirts.  Please note that the prices shown are not what you would pay for these.  I will discount them for you.  Also check out the helmet skins.  Thanks Art
